We did the Chelsea Market and Highline tour with Diana, who was great - very energetic. Tour was excellent - great to try different foods - really enjoyed all the good. You do have to do some waiting while she gets the food. There are 6 food stops in the first half of the tour and then we walked the Highline. Overall, a great tour - nice way to spend the afternoon in New York and learn about the area.

I recently went on a food tour with Like a Local Tour, and it was like unlocking a whole new world of deliciousness. Even though I've tried tons of places as a content creator, this tour opened my eyes to flavors I didn't know existed.

What made it awesome was the guide – super chill and knew their stuff. We hit up hidden spots with a mix of international and local eats, showing off the diverse food scene NYC has.

What made it even better? Doing it with a friend. It's not just about the food; it's a cool experience you can enjoy together.

Long story short, if you want to really get what NYC's food scene is all about, give this tour a shot. It's fun, tasty, and you'll leave with a whole new appreciation for the food this city has to offer.

I was invited to join the food tour of Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO, and I brought my friend with me as we both love trying different foods and exploring parts of NYC. I was born and raised in NYC but haven't really explored the DUMBO area before. Our tour guide, Christine, was so friendly and knowledgeable. She introduced us to some great places. One notable spot is Le French Tart Deli. We started our tour there, with their almond croissants which are huge, steaming hot, flaky, and had a gooey center. Another place I really liked was Jacob's Pickles at Time Out Market which is a place that's been on my list for a while. Their fried pickles were very crispy yet juicy and I liked that they weren't too acidic because usually fried pickles irritate the roof of my mouth if I have too many but these were just right. Along the way we also went for a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge and Promenade where we saw some gorgeous views and learned the history of these places. We passed by Plymouth Church which I was happy to learn was part of the underground railroad and has a history of helping escaped slaves get to Canada. This was my first time on a food tour and I was surprised at how generous the portions were. I'd say this is a very good deal for the price. My friend and I are already considering booking another tour with them for Williamsburg!

It was our first time to NYC - great intro to the area. I really enjoyed touring around "like a local. "

This was such a tasty and informative way to see parts of NYC I wasn't completely familiar with. Our guide Seth brought us to dumpling walk-ups, vegan food stalls, and some of the best pizza I've eaten in New York. At each stop, he shared the history of the neighborhood and bits about how the food and culture intertwined. I highly recommend it!

We were on the Williamsburg tour. It was entertaining and the food was delicious. Definitely a clear recommendation for the tour.

This was not a food tour. This was a walking tour. Our guide, Christine, was fantastic and clearly passionate about the history of the area and had some great knowledge to share, however she was let down by the company and their lack of organisation. The food was average, it was not ready for us and even in one place not available at all, which was so disappointing. No information was given about the food, its significance or the history of the businesses providing it. The food felt incidental, which was such a shame given that we booked a food tour, not a history tour. Honestly, this tour pales in comparison to the other tours we have done in NYC and elsewhere, all the stars are for our lovely guide, not the overall experience.

Great tour. Wish it had been 4 hours instead of 3. Felt rushed. Loved the Chelsea Market. Could have done the entire tour there.

Food was excellent at all the stops. Lara is an excellent tour guide with lots of energy and knowledge.

We had a blast touring Chelsea Market, walking the High Line, and eating some great, authentic NY food. Our guide Christopher was fantastic, and really knows his stuff not only about the food but about the city he loves so much. My advice is to come hungry- you’ll be well fed! And it’s helpful to walk a bit of it off too. Much recommended!

We had a food tour in the Chelsea Market, followed by a walk over the High Line with a group of 13, guided by Diana. Her love for the city and it's diversity is translated to a wonderful experience. We had (and I dare to say) THE BEST taco ever and I can still smell the doughnuts almost a month later:)
Over the High Line, she took her time to point out things that you would normally not see or not pay attention to. Also.the great weather we had that late October day was an added bonus to make it an even better experience out on the High Line.
I would definitely recommend to my friends and other travel partners visiting New York and look forward to returning myself to do the Brooklyn food tour!:)
