We've had a really terrible process with the White Plains office. Lots of avoidable mistakes that have cost us a lot of time. Our refi was suppose to take 2.5-3 months, it's now been 3.5 and we don't even have a closing date yet. The "consultants" are unresponsive, they go days without responding to emails. And one month into the process they mysteriously deleted our application just a couple days after asking for updated documents that were sent. We were told "the clock had run out" and we'd have to start over. And the hoops they're making us and the contractor jump through for the renovation money: they're making us hire a $1000 contractor consultant to hold our hands during the process and they'll only give the contractor 50% of materials to start, basically asking the contractor to extend Loan Depot credit and pay his upfront costs out of his own pocket (they won't even let us give him any funds to help him defray his opening expenses). Our first round of financing was with Prime Lending and they were much more efficient and professional to deal with, and their closing costs 30% lower than Loan Depot with all of Loan Depot's "points".

UPDATE 9/20/22

So.thanks to our broker's incompetency and his repeatedly refusing and then forgetting to send us a rate lock-and the closing took FIVE months. 5! For a refinance! -we lost out on the best rate and got a higher rate with the fed raising rates. Serious mess up on their part.

And all their red tape and bureaucracy and fees related to the construction part of the loan were exorbitant and tedious compared to PrimeLending. And they give ZERO support in helping to move the construction forward or holding the contractor accountable. And make it next to impossible to change contractors. I would really look elsewhere for construction financing.

I have worked with Maria Gross on two home loans now. Maria exceeds every expectation. I have never worked with someone that I trust more. She is always quick to respond and does a great job explaining everything. I would highly recommend Maria to anyone looking to purchase a home. She is the absolute best!

This was my second loan with LoanDepot and I could not be any happier with how simple the process is from start to finish. My schedule is not flexible, so I don't have a lot of time to spend going to the office, checking in, or returning documents. The online platform really helped minimize emails. My loan officer John Gerardi was clear, informed, and simplified everything for me just the same way he did with my first mortgage loan, and now my refinance.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the online website used, it was user-friendly, I particularly loved the simple layout (nothing is more frustrating to me than a complicated overcrowded online platform). I was able to check the progress of my submitted documents, as well as a review at my own convenience via phone or when at home, as well as receive requests/notifications from my entire team. COVID19 could have caused this process to be complicated but fortunately, I had the pleasure of securing a mortgage loan at my convenience with no complications. I will definitely return for my future loan needs as well as refer friends.
