Local Honey, Brooklyn NY

I’ve been going to Local Honey for 5 years now. Normally, I love them but since they moved to the Dekalb location the quality of everything is not good. Just had a pedicure from them and then immediately had to get it fixed somewhere else. Also the color options were very limited. After I realized that my pedicure wasn’t great but didn’t want to deal with it, I wanted to treat myself to a massage bc who can mess that up? Well, it was bad. My bones were rubbed more than my muscles and the “techniques” they used actually did more harm then good. I had to tell the receptionist that they should have not let her give me a massage if she didn’t know what she was doing. I paid in full and left a tip but i won’t be going back. Really upset bc I used to love local honey and would recommend it to everyone. They raised their prices but the the quality is not worth it.

Yang was great! She took off the acrylic from my nails and did a gel manicure. I'm pleased with the result.

First time and will be back.super cute vibe, clean equipment, friendly staff, and quality manis.

I am from Birmingham Alabama and was visiting my (almost) man. I get pedicures and manicures regularly, nothing too fancy just to show some self love. When I tell you these women have been blessed with the skill set and hands and wisdom of all the goddesses ever existed is an understatement. My (almost) (maybe) man is booking his today!

I had an appointment for a mani/pedi, which was cancelled an hour and a half before the appointment was meant to be. I convinced them to take me for just a gel manicure, but within 24 hours, two nails had chipped and one had peeled off fully. I went back for them to fix those nails. In another 24 hours, another nail had fully peeled off and the rest began chipping/peeling within days. Gel should be lasting for far longer than 24-48 hours, especially at $75 for a manicure with a minimal design. I have emailed them a number of times about a refund, but no response.

Booked an appointment same day for a friend to get a pedi for his Birthday. The front desk person was so kind and helpful. The space isn't huge which made it a nice intimate setting. Everything was clean and pleasant. He was very pleased with the results.

I’ve gone here for a year now and hands down is my favorite mani/pedi in Brooklyn. All of the technicians do a great job and the jelly they use for pedicures is amazing. So relaxing and the regular pedi with gel mani always lasts me a full month.

Its nothing like previous before pandemic local honey. Some different shabby place, different interior and exterior and definitely different service. I had gel mani and regular pedi, 1 out of ten, very poor quality of service (I will redo my pedi 100%) The stuff is nice and kind, but thats it.

Always a good experience at this place! I get gel or gel extensions and the service is pretty quick. The staff is friendly and I always get compliments on my nails from here.

Best small nail salon in Bushwick. I almost don't want to tell ya'll to go, but go! Yang is the best!

Most reviews were great and the salon is just a few minutes away so I booked an early appointment.

Masks are required but I forgot mine; the staff was kind enough to still allow me in. The staff was friendly and the service (basic mani) was fast although the lights are dim and the space could use some tidying.

The tech almost stopped at 2 coats even though there were obvious patches so I asked for a 3rd coat. It wasn't until I stepped outside in the sun I realized the polish wasn't smooth and some nails have air bubbles. I normally do my nails myself but wanted a professional this time around. Disappointed, really wanted to like this place!

EDIT; Such a fast, helpful response from the owner! She immediately got in contact with me to address my review and I received a full refund. So happy to shift my opinion of this spot! ️

I visited Local Honey in Bushwick for the first time in July. Tsomo was my nail tech and, as stated in other reviews, she made me feel like she was angry I was there. Only right as I was paying (ie.tipping) did that change. I wanted to give it another shot though and went back a month later and had Chhurim who was the complete opposite- so sweet and friendly! However, it’s only been about two days and the gel on my thumb has totally peeled off and the same is beginning to happen on other nails. Super disappointing especially considering the price point.

I swear by this place for my gel manicures. Dolker is the best! Always perfect and will last weeks with zero chiping. Highly recommend!

Sherab gave me the best pedicure I've had in years! I got the regular (non-gel) mani/pedi combo for $65. Between the attention to detail and full hour service, I felt like it was a great deal and a great experience all around.

I booked and paid ahead online. They accept Venmo for tips, so no need to have cash on hand.
