I really like Loft as they carry lovely clothes and more importantly in my petite size. I wish they were a bit lower priced but I find they do sales quite often so if you're patient like me I end up getting clothing for prices more in line with what I want.

I am a short (4’10) and petite person. Most of my life, I have been used to wearing size 0-2 or XS. However, I am perimenopausal and recently gained excessive weight. I added about 10 lbs during a very short period. Not only do I feel very uncomfortable, but all my clothes also don’t fit any more. Since this is new to me, I did not know which size or which style would fit my body. During an extremely hot day today, I visited a few stores to find my black suits for my work. I bought a few suits at another store, but I stopped by the Loft in Eastchester/Scarsdale just to see if I can find more black suits. There were no black suits, but I met two incredible ladies, Abby and Clarybell, who were very friendly, personable, professional, and helpful in the fitting room. There were many customers. While I was waiting for an unit in the fitting area, I watched their interactions with the customers. Abby & Clarybell were very complimentary towards all customers. At first, I thought it was just a sales speech. But, as I watched them more, they genuinely looked excited to help the customers find the perfect clothes. One customer asked Abby & Clarybell about their opinion about the pants she was trying on. Abby looked, paused a few seconds, and then she carefully said that she was going buy the same pants, but it was uncomfortably designed around abdominal area for her. I thought that it was very polite and professional way to tell the customer that it was not most flattering. The same customer tried on another dress. Abby then excitedly said “That, it is super cute on you. ” When I heard her comment, I thought that Abby sincerely meant her compliments to customers and offered her objective opinions.

So, here, I usually leave quietly. But, I asked the ladies about 2 pants I selected, after tried about 10 pants. I showed them the first pants, which I was not really satisfied; but, fit enough. Clarybell paused a few seconds and recommended me to try another pants. Wow, much better! Perfect one. Would not even need any alternation. 2nd trousers was very long and very wide leg with a lot of fabric hanging due to my shortness. Abby returned with bunch of pins to pin my trousers. They were personable and engaging. So, I opened up myself and told them how I gained a lot of weight and being embarrassed myself. They were very encouraging and empathetic. While there were several other customers there, they paid their attention to each one of them, including myself who I was being reserved at first. During our short interaction, I learned that they are studying in fashion and marketing. They told me that they really love working there and helping the customers. That made me to smile.

Abby took my pants and said “I will take care of this for you because I do not want my co-workers get injured by these pins on the trousers. ” She completed the transaction at the register by herself. I thought it was very thoughtful of Abby, not just for me, but thinking of other co-workers not to be poked by unseen pins.

I worked in the hotel industry for 27 years and I was Director of Human Resources in luxury hotel companies in NYC for many years until I had my child. I used to recruit staff from the restaurants and retail stores when I received the great service. If Abby and Clarybell were coming for an interview at one of my hotels, I would hire them instantly because they were great and provided wonderful customer service.

Now, I still would like to leave a note to recognize these wonderful ladies, Abby and Clarybell. I would like them to know how much I appreciated their attentive service and encouragement on transition to a new wardrobe. Again, if I was still in HR industry, I would hire them on the spot.

Loft HR team, they are great hires! It was a better service than Neiman Marcus. Abby and Clarybell, thank you for the wonderful day, which could have been a very awkward and stressful day for me.

First time at this particular Loft Store. When entering the fitting room I encounter a teenager girl sitting down On the bench, not being happy to be there. I was never offered any assistance or approached. The clothes at this particular store are for more like mid age women, no trendy style for young working professionals.
