Loop of the Loom - UES reviews
18What an incredible place! I did a drop spindle lesson and it was incredible. I'm totally hooked. Can't wait to come back and learn to spin on the wheel.
We had a wonderful time weaving. My granddaughters love the bags they made. My mom and I really enjoyed our introductory session. Everyone is very helpful and the weaving is relaxing and fun.
I registered for an all day weaving session. The staff members were very helpful when I had questions. Thank you for a wonderful day!
I had no clue what to give my sister for Christmas, and I decided a shared experience would be appreciated. The two-hour “Intro to Weaving” at Loop of the Loom (UES) hit the mark! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The table runners we each made are happy keepsakes. Many thanks for a lovely morning!
It was peaceful. Getting absorbed in the process. Very restful. And also very freeing the mind.
Little gem hidden in the middle of NYC. Fantastic experience to get away from the crowds and do something creative. Very pleasant, clean studio.
Highly recommend for anyone.
My first time weaving and I found the introductory class to be informative, interesting and fun.
Learned a lot in the introductory class. Came away with a piece of woven art that I created and many ideas about how I might “weave” this practice into my life!
My boyfriend booked a two hour beginner class for us. I was kind of nervous when we first arrived since I am not a very artsy person. But I had so much fun! Was trying very hard to match the color in the beginning but the reality seemed to be- they would look good no matter what so don't think too much, just go for it! We both love the tapestry we made and thought it was a great place for a date. The instructor was very helpful but also quite hands off, for us to maximize our creativity.
So much fun! Me and my wife have no experience looming and still had a great date night. We will do it again!
I joined Loop of the Loom shortly after my retirement. It was one off the best decisions I ever made. Yukako, Nobu, Rumiko and all the other wonderful people there made my learning to weave a wonderful experiment. I loved the weaving so much that I purchased my own Saori loom. Now, after having had my Covid shots, I am thinking about coming back to the store. It gets lonely being home all the time.
My daughters took after school classes at loop of the loom and had a great time. The teachers are so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a crafting class in the neighborhood.
I had a wonderful part of an afternoon making a strip of beautiful, varicolored and multi-textured fabric, which is now the front of a cushion I enjoy every day in my living room.
I remember being amazed at what I was able to make in 2 hours on the first day! It was so easy to do and made being creative fun. Also, it was so meditative and enjoyable. I ended up going back to the studio again and again. It was wonderful way to spend the day.
I took a Sashiko workshop that was wonderful. The space is comfortable and the staff very friendly. I also took my granddaughters for a day of weaving. They loved it. There were so many choices of different yarns to weave.
I took in person classes at the East Side and Dumbo studios and online during quarantine. They were all wonderful experiences! I cannot say enough good things about this business. All the teachers are amazing and the quality of the products and customer service have been incredible. Can't wait to get back to taking in person classes. Thank you Loop of the Loom!
I have been a weaver at Loop of the Loom (UES) for more than five years. As soon as I walk into the studio I forget the busy streets and other responsibilities and immerse myself in the tranquility and creativity of SAORI weaving. The staff is always ready to answer questions and help me without interfering in my chosen project. Loop of the Loom has been one of my best New York City discoveries.
I have yet to take a workshop but I recently ordered a loom. It was a pleasant experience, from communication to pickup. At pickup, I got a glimpse of the studio and liked the feeling of serenity as well as the abundance of material. I can't wait to join a class.
