My husband needed emergency care. He had immediate and excellent care in the ER. He was admitted and due to bed shortages remained in the ER for 3 days. Everyone was pleasant, helpful and compassionate. We did not see the stress that we saw at other hospitals. Workers took the time to just converse with him. The only downside was waiting for a specific doctor who wanted to see him again before discharge. Another emergency patient arrived needing him more. Maybe could have been released sooner but not their fault.

They would not admit me to the emergency room because they had missed an important chest x ray and are trying to cover up their medical negligence.

American healthcare at it's worst. All of our local hospitals are pretty bad. You kind of have to travel to to get decent treatment. Communication is absolutely horrendous here. Between different departments, from nurse to doctor, basically anywhere communication can break down, it will. Nobody seems to be on the same page which is extremely anxiety inducing. Does anyone here actually know what they are talking about or is just a guessing game? After over 3 days in the hospital and surely staggering medical bills incoming, it certainly doesn't feel feel like it was money or time well spent. I'm just as worried if not more about her health after this visit. Wheres the money back guarantee at these broken and failing hospitals? What are we paying for?

This review is in regards to your daytime shuttle service only.
Thank you so much for providing this service it really helped me out today 2/2/2023 at 9: 40 a.m.
The nice lady driving the shuttle was so kind and friendly and efficient. I didn't catch her name but please let her know how much she is appreciated.

The care was good at the urgent care center but they refused to charge my insurance, trying to get me to pay cash. They sent me a bill instead. I called and they said it would be resolved, then I received a "PAST DUE" bill for the visit. It was not resolved, then they claimed my medicaid number was wrong and that I had to call the state to correct it. It was NOT wrong. The state gave me a number to give to the billing department and when I gave them the number they said "oh, we don't call them" This is all a game and a money grab by a CATHOLIC HOSPITAL to threaten and take money from low income people. I have spend HOURS OF MY TIME at this point trying to resolve this issue. It is a way to make you suffer so that they can get your money. GET THE NAMES OF ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HANDLE YOUR INSURANCE ON THE DAY OF THE TREATMENT OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.

I would’ve been better off staying home than coming here.

The healthcare system is overwhelmed. We pay more than any other country for extremely subpar service. That isn’t the fault of this hospital. I especially hate to put any blame on the employees since it goes way beyond them and most of them seem nice and caring.

However, the employees are what we see, and there are things the hospital could support for a better patient experience. For one, prioritization (which the purpose of triage). I came in for a 104.8 fever and waited so long I can feel my ibuprofen wearing off (I’m still sitting in the waiting room four hours later as I type). I had to ask three times to get my temperature taken, and when they finally agreed to give me ibuprofen they said it would be “a bit”. I’m shivering uncontrollably as my temp climbs back up to seizure-inducing levels. During most of this time they’ve been doing paperwork. Lourdes needs to equip them with the confidence to make the right decision when choosing between helping a patient and doing paperwork. Also, more staff would obviously help - maybe offer better pay for people doing such crucial services?

The second big issue might show more of what’s wrong at the hospital level: coordination. People wait hours to be called, then once they’re finally called someone else will come and call them at the same time. Also, no one has all the information you need, and be prepared to ask multiple times for an answer (if you’re asking the right person). Lourdes needs to get
more staff and train them more. These poor folks are overworked. It hurts them AND the patients.

The worst e.r. Experience I've ever had. Sat for almost 5 hours before the complaints my fathers had were addressed. He showed up for hip and leg pain. They did a chest xray and tried to send him for a ct of the chest. They used his medical history to fish for cash because he has a long standing although controlled medical issue which was not a problem nor a complaint.

Brought my Mother to the ER because she lost motor function in her legs. While there she had breathing issues and high blood pressure issues. Due to this neurosurgery walked away. We were five days with no consult from neurosurgery. The PA couldn't even get them to call her. They did a spinal tap and couldn't get enough fluid. The PA requested another as a protein was a little high. After I complained a new neurosurgeon came. He odered a mylograph. He never came back to give results. He told the Hospitalist that he had nothing to offer. Details and prognosis would have been great. I can't get anyone to give me a prognosis. She has had many other issues that they caused high potassium due to to much fluid. They discovered her hemoglobin was low and did address that. They did not get her out of bed or moving for the first five days. Go figure she developed pneumonia. The PT staff stated she had to be willing. My Mother is a fighter and NEVER said no EVER. She got pulled from PT again due to heart issues. Once she was released we still had to wait because it was the weekend. She is getting pain meds and nausea meds but she has to ask. She doesn't feel well and is kinda loopy due to the pain meds but she has to ask. Ridiculous! I'm pretty sure you can ask questions to see if she's still having those issues. This is the worst experience ever! I will never bring anyone here again.

I'd not send an animal or an enemy to any of the Lourdes clinics. Their staff that answers the phones or called out are the most disgusting and nasty that I've seen in all my experiences thus far in this towns medical facilities. Typical catholic systems that have the worst history, inability to make good decisions, but yet talk crazy at you. I'd not trust them with anything.

I can see why this place has such bad reviews. My grandma has always been afraid of hospitals and this place didn’t help. It took ages for to get a room. They did nothing to make sure she was at least happy. She seemed almost depressed and had to be encouraged to even want to have a visit from my dad (her son). They didn’t even let me and her other grandchildren visit her on her last day. She died 15 minutes ago in this hospital while sad and scared, and I didn’t even get to say goodbye.

Edit: (12/23/2022) Still no action from them. Had I mentioned they are like a joke? Lol

edit: (12/20/2022) In the reply below they want me to call them for an opportunity to work towards a solution. As I already stated in my review, I did:) Multiple times! I called the hospital, doctor's office and even the billing company. I filled out the online form. Anyways, I filled the form again and also called them, let's see if they'll solve the issue now. I'll keep updating this review.

Check your bills everybody! I have not faced something like this in any other place or with any other visit!

They do some mess up with your diagnoses and if you're not careful, you may end up paying way more than what you should have.

Well, I did notice and contacted them, so far no response on that either. They are such a joke!

If you expect quick service go to a drive-thru. If you want a drug hook up go ask a drug dealer. This institution does the best it can. An empty ER waiting room doesn't mean the staff isn't busy. Ambulances and (God forbid) helicopters bring the sick and injured into the ER also. In some periods people who are poor enough condition to stay. Can't always be given a hospital room. I have stayed 2 days in the ER before a room was available. Hospital staff are doing the best they can. A thankless job done by people with feelings. Cut them a brake as they are human like anybody else. 4 out of 5 stars because hospital administrators need to change how they consider success.

Brought my granddaughter to the Er for chest pressure, has a history of cardiac issues. I was not allowed to stay in the waiting room. She was there for well over an hour before ever seeing a physician. I have been a nurse for 33yrs, have never experienced such appalling care. Every technician who did her testing, which was done without ever seeing a doctor, asked if she had chest pain. She told everyone she was, and the response was "ok". I will never use this hospital system again. When they did her EKG, they had her undress and didn't give her a gown to cover up with. Most unprofessional place I have ever seen

The emergency room is outrageously a long wait usually but once you're in there the staff is very friendly and make you feel safe

The hospital is freezing cold all the time. Instead of keeping my mother in for a procedure that her gastroenterologist wanted her to stay in for. The flu season made it so they sent her home before she had her colonoscopy. The physician was mad because we left and went home. I won't allow one of their General Surgeons to operate on me ever again. Dr. T.did 9 procedures on me for a ano fistula at Wilson, if I knew he operated there I would never have gone back to Lourdes. He even used a defective ano fistula plug, that was discontinued. As far as the parking lot there are too many speed bumps that scrape the bottom of our car.
