Magnolia Bakery - Bloomingdales reviews
14Mom ordered a cake for her bday as she normally does, with time in advanced and was picked time at the time she was asked to. Cake was definitely a bad batch, because we’ve had many cakes here before, it smelled like rotten eggs and cake was not good. We did not even eat cake for her bday, we ended up tossing the slices we had served. Today, my aunt went back and returned the cake and was not even upset, she just didn’t think it was fair to pay $60 for a cake that was not even eaten, she took 70% of the cake back. She was told she needed to return the cake the same day or the day after, my mom lives in Queens, so we don’t easily go into the city. She was offered $15 for the cake, which my aunt took in offense and said no thank you. I’m beyond upset and as loyal costumers we’ve been for years, I would attach all the cakes we have gotten from here for years but I won’t give them more of my time, the least they could have done is to apologized to my aunt, and offer a new cake or a store credit. Don’t buy here, they don’t care for their loyal customers. The cake was left on the counter, maybe they’ll dare eat it.
We bought a very nice 9” chocolate birthday cake from Magnolia - but the spelling of my friend’s name on the cake was wrong
I made a trip here after reading on their website that they have gluten free banana pudding at their bakeries. I got here and they said it has to be ordered 24 hours in advance How about you mention that on your website before someone goes out of their way to visit?
Great Staff! Very welcoming! Ran out of mini banana puddings & they made one for me right away! Very appreciative because I only eat very small portions. TY!
Went here after much hype about their banana pudding - it was good but not the greatest that I would go back another time. Tried their red velvet cheesecake too but really wasn’t too fond of that either. It’s just a cute cafe that got hyped up cause of SATC! Wouldn’t recommend for coffee or pastries as much.
Beautiful, delicious baked goods. What's not to love? The only thing I could ask for is some seating space, but they do have some bars on the side you can stand and eat at.
Magnolia's banana pudding is the hype. But they also have drinks and other sweets located inside bloomies along one of the entrances. I found the banana pudding ok but I wont really go looking for it. I dont think it's bad, just overhyped perhaps.
Every time I eat here I pull hair out of my food. Most of the female staff does not wear hair nets and you would literally get hair in your food because of it.it happened 3 times to me and I even called the health department over it.
Bad quality cakes, the flavours are way too unnatural, vanilla cheesecake was good tho. The price is too high for this quality and the cashier was nice but the girl handing out the food had a bad attitude.
Overall their stuff is really good and really fresh. I do find that their cakes are a little too much on the sweet side. And their prices are a little high as well. But great place to drop in when you want a piece of cake or some yummy banana bread pudding [ps - to make your banana bread pudding even better, add in some sliced bananas].
This is one of my favorite dessert spots to visit when ever im in New York. Best sweets in town. Great prices. Delicious cupcakes!
We always enjoy visiting when we're in the city, however, with increased popularity this location has devolved into a bit of a production line experience.
Rude employees and they ran out of whip cream and had an attitude like it was my fault for asking. I guess it's New York hospitality.
Attitude with slow service. I'd expect such from a establishment located in a dollar store but unexpected. To think I brought others with me and apologized for bringing them to such a place.
No napkins in sight (ask and you get the attitude)
No forks, etc. (Ask and they give you attitude)
This place reflects race to the bottom service you see in Airlines. While not all employees here had the nasty attitude, some can clearly learn to be nice to other human beings. Creates a false negative image for tourists who would be visiting New York City.
