My salesperson, Jason Gulley, was truly remarkable during the entire buying process at Maguire Hyundai. He took the time to help explain all of the paperwork in great detail, and was very kind and courteous. This is the third vehicle I have leased/purchased at Maguire Hyundai and feel that they cannot be beat with it comes to pricing, service, and overall customer satisfaction. I will be recommending Jason, and Maguire Hyundai, to my family, friends, and customers for many years to come.

I recently went to test-drive a Hyundai Elantra SEL at this dealership. During the test drive, the salesperson claimed that they sell cars in Ithaca well below MSRP. However, upon further investigation, I discovered that the MSRP displayed on their website was artificially inflated by about $2,000 compared to the manufacturer's set price.

When I reached out to the sales manager to clarify the pricing discrepancy, I received an unprofessional response. The sales manager directed me to look at the window sticker for the vehicle's detailed specifications and price and hinted that I didn't understand how the vehicle market works.

I believe that customers deserve transparency when it comes to pricing, and this experience left me feeling misled and frustrated. The lack of honesty and professionalism in their response is concerning.

I intend to share more details and my entire email correspondence with the sales manager on Reddit (link will be added here later) to further shed light on this matter. I hope this review serves as a cautionary tale for other potential customers considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership.

Overall, I had a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this dealership to others.

Great experience-probably the best car buying experience to date. Quick and easy. Got a great new SUV. Alex took great care of me.

I worked with Alex from across the country to purchase a car for our daughter at school. He was extremely helpful and patient. I called a ton of dealers in the upstate area and Maguire gave the best price and was willing to work with me with no pressure. One caveat is I was promised all weather floor mats but they didn’t have them when we went to get the car. Alex has promised to order and mail them. Will update the review when they arrive.

BEST experience I have ever had with a dealership. Went in on a Friday looking at a specific car, but sadly it was sold. Jason and Zach found a car just like it for me and I drove off with the car by Monday at 12pm. Highly recommend!

Got me in fast, but sat for over 45 minutes after my vehicle was finished because they were looking for "Patricia". I received no phone call (and yes they had my number not Patricia's). They never asked for my last name, just for Patricia. I was walking up and down the sidewalk after 1 hour and 30 minutes and just happened to see my vehicle had been moved. I went into the service center, got someone's attention, and asked if my vehicle was done. He called me "Patricia" I explained my name was Toni, and those were my keys! I have a very busy schedule and didn't appreciate setting and waiting needlessly. OTHER THAN THAT. I REALLY LOVE AND APPRECIATE THE PEOPLE AT McGuire! Accidents happen!

Great experience with this dealership helping me to find a perfect subcompact SUV. After looking at new cars and then indicating that I would consider a recent, low mileage pre-owned, Chris Ripley showed me a Kona that suited my needs perfectly. Love the car, and truly appreciate Chris’s work to make the transaction.

I do not plan to use this service center ever again if I can help it. They seem to cause more problems than they actually fix. They won't listen to feedback or entertain the thought that they may be responsible for something.
I took my car in for general service 4/15/23 which included taking off my snow tires and mounting my summer tires and a NYS inspection. Sadly my wheel bearing needed replacing so I gave them to go ahead to fix that. When I drove my car away from the lot it started making a horrific grinding noise when turning the steering wheel. I called the shop as soon as I got home and unfortunately they were closed by that time. I did not drive my car because I was afraid of causing further damage. I called first thing Monday morning 4/17/23 and they were able to get me an appointment the next morning 4/18/23.
My partner took the car back in and after several hours they told us that the grinding noise was caused by a brake pad shim and we thought we were all set. About 5 hours after the car was home the driver side front tire was completely flat. This was the same tire that they did the wheel bearing work on it. We were not sure what the cause was but we were concerned the tires was not sealed correctly onto the wheel.
We contacted the service department again about this problem and they would not make an appointment for me again until I ordered a new tire through their parts department. At that point we didn't know if the tire was damaged or not and we just wanted the problem diagnosed and subsequently fixed. Something was wrong. Looking over the paper work it stated that they checked all the tires and they were given the OK to be used and passed inspection.
My car was not in driveable condition and they just said to order the new tires and bring it down. Easier said than done because we will need a tow and we didn't think it was fair for us to be on the hook for a tow service for something that wasn't our fault.: (They gave the tires the OK in the first place!
In the end we were tired of being disappointed by Maguire that we decided to write them off entirely.
We arranged a tow with Finger Lakes Wrecker service and the tow driver did his best to figure out the issue with our tire. Through his machinations it was clear the tire was not sealing onto the wheel. You could see and hear the air leaking. He checked our entire tire and there were no nails or foreign debris to be found. So now we will have a towing claim on our insurance and we had to pay for extra service at another shop because the managers there refused to be cooperative in amending our situation.
Do no take your car here unless you thrive on disappointment and stress.

When they diagnosed my car, they called my father and told them what was wrong, then, the next day they called me acting like we had no idea what was wrong with it and gave me an update. They told me about my engine, but also told me about some brakes. I told them to call my father, and when they did, they mentioned nothing about the brakes which I find a little interesting. Also, my dealership at home said if there was something wrong with my brakes, it would be covered under warranty and Maguire told me it would be $1500.so I don’t appreciate them trying to take advantage of a 20-year-old girl who knows nothing about cars. Also, when I picked up my car there were 2 bolts left in my car without any word of what to do with them or where they come from. I had to go back and ask myself what to do with them, and they told me to tell the next dealership which I thought was very unprofessional. Overall, my experience with Miguire Hundi was extremely negative and stressful.

The warranty work was done in a prompt manner. Very nice waiting area. Only glitch was they had another customer's name associated with my vehicle. Hopefully, the records are corrected & there will be no further problem. The link occurred because my phone number matched a previous customer of theirs.

Buying a car is normally a stressful thing in life to do. So much uncertainty dealing with dealerships and salesman. I can honestly say that Alex made our purchase super smooth. He was upfront and honest. He was a great communicator and went above and beyond to make this purchase easy. If I could buy every car from Alex and Maguire for the rest of my time I would. I am a customer for life.
