Mama Pho reviews
17The Best Pho! So many flavors and the broth is delicious. If I lived closer I would order take out every week. Dropping by when I’m in the area will just have to do for now.
Delicious Vietnamese Sandwich?
Nice music and clean, The staff are also very Kind and friendly!
My 2nd time ordering delivery and both times my order was incomplete/missing keeping key parts to even just have the meal. The first time the broth wasn't sent with the pho parts, so I had raw beef n cold noodles. This time the noodle salad was sent but without noodles. I would loved to actually eat and mostly likely enjoy a meal from here. The other reviews read well but I've only been disappointed.
Got the beef brisket pho. Had to order and pay before sitting down to eat. Food was served in a plastic to-go bowl with a packet or siracha and hoisin sauce. Broth tasted bland and inauthentic and they overloaded it with a bunch of hard scallions and veggies. Could have gotten better at a deli. Would not return or recommend.
This is my now go-to “everyday” kind of pho spot. When you want a good broth and just the right amount of noodles / protein, their bowls deliver.
Fresh rice noodles are a welcome change from most more casual joints that use dry noodles.
Herbs already chopped up and mixed in a nice convenience as well.
This is not a Hanoi House, or Madame Vo, or Sai Gon Dep, or Bolero (right across the street) type of joint - it’s a simple fast casual type spot, so keep that in mind.
I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Based on recent reviews I can see I'm not the only one disappointed with my experience here.
I understand that restuarants are struggling in so many ways (pandemic, mandates, guidelines, increase cost of food, etc.) And I am empathetic to that.
I ordered the rib eye pho for my son and he enjoyed it. It was flavorful and filling according to him.
For myself, I ordered the rice dish with Lemongrass tofu. There were A LOT of cucumbers which overwhelmed the dish. The rice and tofu was a moderate portion but still small especially compared to the price. I believe the large amount of cucumber was to substitute the small portion of rice and tofu. Flavor was okay.
I would visit again and order something different. The ambiance is nice despite the place being tiny. And there are a few seats available outside.
It’s my first time in New York. This little place in Williamsburg is awesome
We taken a different pho. But the flavors were great
1️⃣Chicken home style 4.6 - 5
(Just for the wait time)
2️⃣Mama pho ohh terrific 5-5
If you stay close here. I recommended came here
I dont know if it's because of the pendamic or not but lately all the restaurants I have been spending so much money in taste like crazy. The restaurants don't try anymore. This place my wife couldn't eat the pho at all. It smelled like cockroaches and the noodles were cold. I'm losing hope in these restaurants nowadays
I wanted to like this place, but I can’t. I ordered the lemongrass chicken pho and the chicken was raw. I asked the man working there about the chicken before ordering, he said it was grilled chicken. There’s no way this is grilled. I had a piece of chicken and it felt rubbery, so I spit it out. I pulled all the pieces out of the pho and noticed the difference, some were pink (lacking the stringy texture you usually see in cooked chicken), others were a little more done with a white color (but still no stringy texture). I didn’t eat any of it, that seemed gross. I would’ve happily waited a little longer for fully cooked chicken.
The beef bone soup is good, but the beef was chewy. For that kind of money, I should be getting top notch ribeye sliced paper thin, not thick chewy beef. Go try Nam Son, and you will be able to tell the difference.
This place used to be good place for pho lover but now the service as well as the facilities are so cheap. They use plastic spoon and they will charge u for even a pack of sriracha… Can you imagine Vietnamese restaurant with extra $$ for a stiracha? ! Also the food is not as good as before, never going back there
Not exciting at all for $15+ for a sandwich. Lemongrass chicken was very blend and on the dry side.
Good flavor, but were over priced and the service wasn’t efficient.
We clearly ordered a classic banh mi with jalapeños, but were really disappointed with what we got. We looked forward to the complexity of the picked carrots and cilantro and jalapeño, unfortunately, none of that was present in this sandwich. They skipped out on all the major toppings and forgot about the jalapeños.
Another disappointment was the packaging. We completely understand that No one eats the packaging, but it has to be appealing to the eye. The sandwich was wrapped in wax paper and held with rubber bands. They could have had so many other options for wrapping up to go orders, and they chose to go for this. Half of the sandwich was exposed and not fully covered (this might violate some safety food handling standards).
Sorry to sound so hurt over something so small, but it was the price, the overall presentation and the lack of listening to the customer, is what upset us and made us leave this type of feedback.
Added meat balls for extra charge on my delivery only got two which were both the size of half a chicken nugget if even that. This is for Pho Dac Biet. Nothing Dac Biet about this, especially considering the amount of meat was nothing to write home about.
This place is good! So good that I feel like it’s a little secret spot that no one knows about. Doesn’t have a lot of seating space, but makes it more the perfect. If you get a spot and get anything off of the menu—you won’t regret it.
Good food, good & fast service, place is tiny but love that they allowed dog in. Thank you!
If you go there on a busy night the broth is basically salt water with a touch of noodles and a bit of meat. They are lucky that they have minimal competition around. It’s closer to 3.7 when it’s not busy. But still: small portions and salt water broth. Zzzz
