Maman, New York NY

Maman was not bad, but nothing incredible. I had the dulce de leche hazelnut croissant and honey lavender latte. The croissant filling was good, but it wasn’t light or flaky like I would expect a croissant to be, and it was cold. I was not a huge fan of the latte, while it tasted quite strongly of lavender I didn’t think it was sweet enough and I couldn’t taste any honey. The man who took my order was very kind though. It wasn’t a terrible experience but I’m not sure if I would return since there are better places in the city.

Really good chocolate chip cookie! Had an iced chai latte which was alright, pretty basic. They have a good amount of seating in the back of the restaurant and outside as well

They also have a single stall restroom in the back as well!

The food here is really good, however, the service was horrible!

First, we were seated and no one gave us menus or waited on us for 10 minutes. Then, when we were finally approached my a waitress, she didn't give us menus and we had to use our phones to access it. Next, we ordered drinks that came out 20 minutes later, and they were cold. Finally, the messed up our order and we ended up waiting about 40 minutes to get our food. The waitress never checked on how the food was, and we had to flag someone down each point in the experience.

While I might get food from here again, I will absolutely not be dining in.

My wife decided to surprise me by bringing my back a slice of pistachio cake from Maman. I must admit that I’ve been extremely disappointed. Beyond the cake being tasteless, it was also extremely dry and over cooked. It also felt that it was from days ago…

Best place to relax and have some hot drink or breakfast or brunch even. It's calm, down-to-earth, pretty affordable for NYC and a bit anti-mainstream. I adore the room design, they have a little patio, and a great selection of smaller and bigger bites. Some pastries and interesting teas. Can totally recommend to go there, when nearby.

Wanted to stop in this morning to get a chocolate croissant and cappuccino. I was alone so thought it would be nice to sit at the high top by the window.
That area was not cleaned, had dirty dishes from previous guests (which is fine).
But as I asked if someone could clean a spot, I received a very rude treatment, as if I asked for something wrong. An employee came and took some of the dishes but left the rest and did not wipe down any of the crumbs. The cappuccino and croissant took so long that I had to take it to go after all, which I didn’t care since the place was dirty anyways.
Never returning to this location.

Amazing coffee, farmhouse style decor!

The pastries and baked goods are incredible!

However, the food is for peasants.
Low calorie, low nutrient, assemblies of vegetables and affordable grains. I have seen rabbits eat more nutrient dense food.

Whoever is eating this food, will not make it through the winter.

This place seems to be well-known and it's understandable! The only negative point: it's crowded ; but it's normal! The place is great! Love the vibe, the space and the atmosphere inside is nice. Huge choice of pastries (vienoiseries en français) and drinks - all types of coffees and other hot drinks (chai latte os perfect). Took the brunch there and it was delicious, and not expansive for the size of the meal! I was full! Service is nice and friendly. 5 stars well deserved

Whenever I meet someone for coffee, I love suggesting Maman! Maman is a beautiful cafe and bakery and there are several locations in NYC! My favorite one has to be Soho. What’s great about Maman is that you can get a coffee for the morning or as an afternoon pick me up. You can also come here for lunch on the weekdays and brunch on the weekends. The cafes are beautifully decorated and the food here is always delicious!

Honestly thought I would love it, but thinking back I wouldn't go back.

The food is okay, nothing out of the ordinary. Same thing for coffee. My friend ordered egg whites and potatoes, got the potatoes cold 20 minutes after the eggs, eggs were cold. Nothing felt thought through with attention. I asked two eggs, I got one and it wasn't hot.
