The worst doctors office I have been to in my life. This office is run by the most incompetent team I have ever encountered.

A couple weeks ago I got an email to call the doctor and schedule a flu shot, so I did so right away. The following week, I came into the office and they tried to bill me for a regular appointment. I refused to pay and told them my insurance covers flu vaccines. The receptionist then told me to go to a Walgreens and get it for free. Why would they push a patient out the door like this?

The next time I called my doctor was to speak with the doctor. The receptionist insisted that he can take my message. I told him that I would like to speak directly to a doctor because I did not feel comfortable speaking to him about my health concern. The receptionist insisted that I needed to go through him. I reluctantly gave him my message. Fifteen minutes later another staff member from the office called me and revealed another patients personal information to me. The person that called me thinking I was another patient and violated HIPAA by stating the patients name. I proceeded to tell this individual my actual name and she quickly hung up the phone. 2 minutes later I got a call from the doctors office AGAIN and they hung up the phone on me.

Later that day I called back to see what was happening with my health concern. The receptionist told me that I would need to schedule an appointment to get my one singular question answered. I told the receptionist that I had one question and I should be able to consult a doctor for help. The receptionist said he will get the office manager to call me back and no one ever called me back. This went on for a day and I am still waiting to hear back from a doctor.

Manhattan Medical Arts should be ashamed of the service they provide. I would not recommend this office to anyone. They are motivated to make money and are careless about patient well-being.

The doctor scheduled me for a mandatory follow up. Key word - Mandatory. She was the one that schedule me for a follow up simply just to review my blood test results. Because she said it was mandatory, I came. Now I am getting charged almost $300 for the 5 minute "mandatory" follow up.

I had the worst doctors experience of my life at this place yesterday. This place is unhygienic and extremely cramped. The nurses and doctor do not inform you what is happening in the process. Expect a lot of waiting and confusion. This physical took 2 hours and all they did was give me an EKG and take a blood test. They had to try 4 times before getting any blood from me, luckily I have zero fear of needles. The staff was unprofessional, the nurse who was supposed to take my blood was texting for 6 minutes while i sat in a chair for her to yell for someone else to bring her a needle, the front desk was listening to Lana Del Rey on a JBL charge portable speaker and singing aloud, the front desk receptionist had come back and involved a patients business (who was on the phone) with the entire waiting room. There was no privacy. It was all such a nightmare. I am reporting this business to 311 today.

Not great at communicating with patient

Initially I was seeing Dr Duker, she was helpful and seemed to actually want to check up on how I was doing. I started a treatment with Dr Duker and had an appointment for a follow up. However I began a full time job and due to scheduling, had to see Dr Hanif. Dr Hanif was very dismissive and was not even interested in checking my progress. She told me I would need to see a psychiatrist to continue treatment without giving a Dr or offering any guidance on how to find someone who was In Network. I waited over an hour to see Dr Hanif and she seemed like she just wanted to get rid of me. Nothing about seeing a specialist was ever communicated to me. Her “referral” she gave me ended up being useless because nobody is in network for me.

On an added note, every single appointment they tried to overcharge me. I had to show my insurance card each time to stop it. Save yourself the time and find a Dr that isn’t trying to nickel and dime you.

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM literally stay away at all costs. Met with Dr. Syra Hanif who was rude and dismissive- the appointment lasted 2 minutes and she told me she could not help me. Yes, that's right- 2 minutes. Afterwards I called the office and said I would like to be refunded, and they told me that was not possible since I already had the "consult" (the 2 minute conversation), and then the provider hung up on me. I will never get my money back or the time I wasted here, but you can still save yourself the headache.

A truly great experience. Got seen in a manner of minutes and everyone was so incredibly nice and thorough. Highly recommend this practice!

Dr. Ney is an excellent medical professional. He gave me a lot of time to share the details and paid complete attention to them. That, to me, is an important thing that every doctor should follow.

Professional and efficient visit from beginning to end. Short wait times and a friendly attentive trip to the Doc. Will be back and highly recommend this office.

I have a very poor experience with Dr. Hanif at Manhattan Medical Arts. She had good reviews on zocdoc, but I should have listened to my gut instincts about some of the reviews about how they are solely a money hungry practice. They will try to charge you for every little thing and also enforce procedures you don't actually need under the guise of saying it is medically necessary in order to be prescribed the medications needed - so that they can pocket more money. I finally had enough and went to another PCP, who outright laughed when I told her what procedures she done w. Me. My new PCP also noticed her treatment plan was not standardized nor was my medication prescribed at an effective level. In the meantime, despite paying my normal co-pay, I was getting emails about more charges about a month later. When i called to ask what these were for, they said that I was getting billed at the specialist level - all because she asked 2 lame questions, she thought she qualified to bill me as a specialist + my PCP. It is also not the most welcoming medical office, never going back.

I love Dr. Hanif, she has great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable. She answered all my questions and is so knowledgeable! I also have never had a long wait time which is important for a busy New Yorker!

I have had good experiences since coming here - super flexible with my work/travel schedule with low wait times. Doctor Hanif is kind, knowledgeable and helped me when I was switching doctors/prescriptions with no hesitation. Frequent follow-ups for refills on prescriptions aren't ideal but all doctors operate differently (no pun intended). Unsure why people think it's a scam.

My guess is that many of these positive reviews are fake. The facilities are cramped, the exam rooms are tiny and the facility is located next to a gym with music loud that the bass reverberates through the walls. They automatically booked a follow-up appointment for no apparent reason and then sent me a notice I would be charged for a no-show. Never ever going here again. If you have decent insurance, go anywhere else with some positive (and real) reviews.

The service here, if not the worst, is very poor. The communication is bad. 1 out of 10 times you call, people pick up the phone. Unprofessional is the word to describe Manhattan Medical Arts. They schedule unnecessary visit due to poor communication. It is waste of time and money.

Can I give zero stars? This was by far the WORST Drs office I have ever been to. The doctor started arguing with me about an annual physical and that I was not scheduled for one when I had PROOF on ZocDoc that I booked an Annual Physical. She proceeded to look at my knee which I told her was killing me and she said get a knee brace from CVS. What? No help, at all. I HAD TO GRAB MY STUFF AND WALK OUT because she was arguing with me still about the Annual Physical. She also proceeded to tell me I don't understand "doctor terms" and the "difference between booking an acute appointment and an annual physical". This doctor is an absolutely joke to society and has the worst bedside manner I have ever ever ever dealt with in my 30 years of living on this planet. Everyone please take my advice. DO. NOT. GO.

Hi,
I was taken to the room very quickly. The front desk staff are amazing. Dr Hanif was great. Glad I made her my PCP. Highly recommended!

Excellent experience, clean and friendly office. Appointment was on time and efficient. Dr. Hanif explained all the tests and symptoms. The assistant Ashley went above and beyond in being helpful, nice and professional. I did not even feel the needle. Will be back- excellent office.

Do not go here. This was my experience:

I booked an appointment through ZocDoc to see Dr. Syra Hanif, but was told when I arrived that I would see Dr. Adjoa Duker instead. Dr. Hanif's reviews are a lot better, so this was very disappointing.

I kept the appointment anyways, but it was horrible. Dr. Duker and one of the nurses got in a SCREAMING fight at each other in the office and I could hear everything. It was beyond unprofessional. When the nurse prepared the equipment for my pap smear, she DID NOT WEAR GLOVES. I obviously pointed this out to the doctor and she got new equipment for me.

The office itself is gross. Really dirty and equipment. I will never go back and I do not trust their blood tests and/or diagnoses.

Do not go!

I came in as a patient with a sore throat and Dr Hanif tested me for Strep Throat on Monday. The initial result was negative, so she sent me home. A week later, my throat was still causing intense pain, so I came back into the office, only to discover that the strep test came back POSITIVE and I was suffering for a week without receiving a phone call about my results.

BEWARE: This place is a scam. I made an appointment through ZocDoc. The appointment was never confirmed. Zocdoc sent me an email saying something along the lines of your appointment is requested but not confirmed. I tried calling and could not get anyone on the phone. I did not go to the unconfirmed appointment at the office where I could not reach anyone to confirm. The day of the appointment, I received a call from a NY number and the voicemail was static. The next day the same number called again and said I missed my appointment- again, my unconfirmed appointment that Zocdoc had emailed saying I must reach out about. I called the office back immediately and got an answer this time and explained that they had never confirmed the appointment and the woman on the line actually LIED and insisted she spoke to me! She said she had a note that she spoke to me and I said that I would be coming into my appointment! What! I tried to play her the static voicemail but she was not having it. I kindly asked her to not charge me the co-pay because I never had a confirmed appointment and I certainly never spoke to her over the phone the day before. But alas, I got a charge and a charge reminder continuously until I paid the damn thing.
