Marie Eiffel Market, Shelter Island NY

Skip this one. Bread was stale on the BLT and the veggies on the goat cheese and veggie wrap weren't really veggies but onions and day old wilted salad. Certainly not worth the price.

For the price of a restaurant entrée you don’t get much; small portion, average quality, all to be picked up at the counter when they call your name. Nothing special.

The view out back is the best part, but you can get the same thing for free sitting on a park bench next door (where they send you to use the public restroom).

I spent $22 on crab cakes on greens (which I paid $6 extra for) and it was just a takeaway container filled with two sauce containers, maybe a handful of mixed greens, and two little crab balls (no bigger than a golf ball).

To think that for $16 they just throw those two little balls in a container with sauce is just awful… it’s hardly an appetizer let alone a meal! Seriously, they’re just fried pieces of nothing. I walked down the street to stars cafe when I was finished and bought myself another lunch.

Don’t let yourself be made into a fool; you will get nothing for your money here.

The perfect little market/restaurant. The view from back patio area on the docks is gorgeous. The staff was fun and inviting, and the food was delicious!

We had lunch there as we heard that it was a great place to eat. I was not disappointed at all! We all had sandwiches et it was really good. The owner Marie was very friendly with us same as the staff. I would totally recommend this place if you want a great lunch!

Ordered the $16 Parisian sandwich. Was supposed to be ham with gruyere cheese. It was a ham and Swiss with one slice of meat and cheese. Two sandwiches and two piece of crumb cake (which was very yummy), $44.

A great little market for essentials, and premium items. They have most of the typical grocery items you'll need, plus tons more. They have nice cheeses, sausages, meats, pastries, and lots of other stuff you'd expect at an authentic French shop.

They also function as a restaurant, serving ready-to-eat items. Would go again.

As a former employee I can tell you that basically everything is frozen and the whole store is a scam. Marie buys regular fruit and puts it in “organic containers” and claims there organic and local. All the fish is frozen and the “homemade pizza crust” that once it’s all out together is around $18 is basically a store bought tortilla. Marie is verbally abusive to her staff and costumers. I worked an 11 hour shift with no break and was screamed at for speaking to any coworkers while working. Toxic environment run by the biggest con artist avoid this place at all costs!

What a wonderful experience. I called Marie a month in advance for a family party of 10. I allowed her to create the menu and she crushed it. And her service was outstanding. She delivered the appetizers at 5 (scallops with cavier, tuna sashimi, and smoked salmon), and then delivered the dinner at 7: 15 (lobster, sliced ribeye steak, grilled zucchini, corn salad with delicious sauces) and then she made an outstanding mousse cake for the birthday girl. Highly recommend working with Marie for a special occasion on the island.

Pretty mediocre and overpriced, from the coffee to the sandwiches. Though there is a nice view at the back.

Ridiculously overpriced for what you get, including the worst coffee imaginable with ice that you have to pour yourself for $6+ and all the hair (s) you could ever want in your breakfast sandwich. Is money no object? Have little to no taste? Then visit Marie’s!

Such a friendly staff and such delicious food. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the boats.

Talk about gouging your customers; wow! Very expensive! When you pay for goods, the screen begins by asking for tip, starting at 15% and up. I.e. They give you a cup to go and fill your own coffee for 4: 35 plus tax and start by asking for a tip. It almost feels bad not tipping. Also had a steak sandwich for about $17+, not only was it the smallest sandwich, but there was hardly any steak in the it. I don’t recommend this place, unless you’re pretty desperate.

Soo expensive it’s almost a joke. 4$ (plus tax) for a regular cup of coffee that tastes bad and you have to go get it yourself with a cup.

I wish I snapped a picture of the pain au Chocolat but I ate it so fast and then I was really sad because it was gone. I went back again and again and maybe couldn't figure out the correct hours. Or maybe it was all a mirage and I dreamed up the best croissant I've had on this side of the Atlantic. It was warm out of the oven, buttery, flakey, well hydrated and perfectly laminated. I will keep dreaming about these until I can come back and have another. I do so hope it was real.

Last year the owner held a go fund me and used all the money to travel abroad to go to Paris and India.
