Wow! I do NOT know where to begin. I have already written a LONG review on Intuit's Website. What I will say is that Mark Courses are giving me the knowledge, skill, and power that I need to change my LIFE. For years I have been perplexed about how to approach how to organize my life and finances. Mark has shown the method to the very answers I have been seeking for many MANY years. I have used Mark's services to help me with my Home Finances. At first, I was skeptical about him requiring the combination of videos and live sessions. It really works to minimize the cost of making one’s home finances perfect. There’s a lot of QuickBooks I would like to learn later if I use it for business. Wow! I have to tell you I feel blessed. I am a bookkeeper and I took on a new client who owns a Property Management Company. I am thrilled to have this opportunity. I began my search immediately to see what training might be available online so that I set up my new client properly.
I came upon "thequickbooksdude" on YouTube. And he actually had a set of training videos for Property Management Companies on QBDT. Heaven! Blessings!
So I started watching them. He has the training set up in the order in which you should watch them. I watched all of them, well, except for the last couple that had to do with Security Deposits. My new client does not accept the security deposits. He makes the owners of the property handle all security deposits.
I struggled with an issue of how invoice tenants that owe back rent. I could not figure out how to enter rent due, along with rent paid. I am coming up against a time deadline so I went back to his YouTube channel which actually provided his contact information. I called his phone number and left a message, really not holding too high of hopes of a return call. I had clicked on a link to make an appointment, but it seemed like it wasn't completely set up. I was not able to make an appointment.
Well, Mark called me back within one hour. I was thrilled. I told him my experience on trying to set up an appointment and what happened there. He apologized and said he was recently aware of that and would take it down entirely until his Website person could fix the issue. He then asked how he could help me. I explained the situation; that I am a bookkeeper with a new client who manages other people's rental properties. I was looking for help in how to track what a tenant owes once they get behind.
He and I talked back and forth, he made sure that I had watched the videos in order, etc. He suggested that I open a Test Customer in QB and watch the video series again. He said he understood that it would take some time, but that he believes it would help me understand the process as I actually go from beginning to end. In our discussion, he did say, that for what I am wanting to do for this new client, send balance due to tenant's that are behind, that I may need to run a report in QBDT and then export to Excel to show months that are due.
I am going to continue on with his videos and make sure I am not missing any steps. And I know now that if I need his help, I can email him and make an appointment with him.
I just read through Mark's reviews, prior to leaving my own. I am sorry to see the very critical review from Torre Atkinson. After reading the reviews from others, seeing comments on his YouTube presentations and then speaking to him in person, I am going to assume this was just a messy misunderstand and clashing of different personalities? I don't know. I hope that Torre was able to resolve her issues. That just was not my experience at all. I guess time will tell. But as of right now, I am feeling hopeful that I have someone in my corner, that has expertise that I can call on his services if and when needed. Mark, thank you. Merry Christmas.
