Martha's Country Bakery, Queens NY

Been coming here for almost two decades. Aside from the best desserts and wide selection of pastries which are a given, it’s the friendly staff (consistent in all locations) that keeps me coming back. Martha’s Country Bakery is a New York City gem.

I just called the bakery and the person who I spoke to was extremely rude and unprofessional. She hung up on me. I called back to get her name and I was told it was Emily. I’m extremely disappointed that that was the service that I was given.

The food is amazing but the service is terrible; they bring the check without request it, and after that they ask us to leave because they need the space while they have enough empty tables and there weren’t any people waiting.

Great service from the moment you walk in. Great variety from individual slices, to whole cakes ready. Prices are fair. And the dine in option is great.

I love this place but something was just off tonight. We were a large party, seated after 20 min which is great for a Saturday night, seated in the area where the take out line is. Anyway, we sat for a good 10 min (maybe more) and had to ask the manager when someone was going to come take our order. She was shocked that no one came to our table since she welcomed us on our way in so she knew how long we were sitting there. The server came and took our order and brought out water. We were served without utensils. We thought he was coming back with them but he never came back so we had to ask for utensils. Then we were ready to go and waited forever for the check. Upon getting ready to leave (still waiting for my credit card to come back) i asked another server if i could get something to go. She tells me sure join the line. WHAT? ! I just dined in and now I have to wait in that long take out line to get something to go? I asked for my leftovers to be packed and when i got home i realized some of my items weren't packed. I am not accustomed to this type of service at Martha's. I come here often. I dont know if they have some new staff working there or whats going on exactly but it wasn't a pleasant experience. We couldn't wait to get out of there tonight.

The chocolate mousse cake was disgusting. I couldn't even force myself to eat it. I'll never buy anything from them ever again.

I get some pastry for special day for me and when I open the box all is mess up the pastry is not fresh and is very expensive I never go back in this bakery.again

A superb place to try cakes and desserts.the staff is super friendly.a small note: the cakes are too dense, so two can share one slice

Martha’s has good treats. But one of the illegal immigrants working behind the counter had a bad attitude for absolutely nothing.she seemed to not like her job.
After SPENDING $3.50 PER macaroon; I had expectations of decent service.

Thank you for making my daughter's favorite cake (red velvet) reality, she wanted for her birthday peppa pig and it was awesome. I had to travel with the cake to new jersey (bc this is the only cake my daughter eats) and the manager offer the cake frozen since it was hot this way the cake could survived the 2 hours trip.

Update again: Better much better. I can give back my 5starts to this place again

I was in line for 20 minutes no one served me but ignored me because I'm new here and I don't know the name of the sweets, I was forced to go home without buying it, anyway sweets are good, but Service no

Service is great& friendly. Some of the items are not that fresh but overal everything is delicious at this place!

Got red velvet for my birthday, it was a crowd fav. Also tried the apple pie, nice crust, very thin apple slices in the feeling. The place itself was full everytime I went. Oh and our vegan friend enjoy the vegan cheesecake and chocolate cake.

Marthas is my all time favorite bakery, but the barista had a very Bad attitude, she was also rude to the employees. Not sure if she’s a manager or not but This not a good look for a bakery like this.

I love Martha’s bakery. Good overall experience. My favorite is their lava cake and hot chocolate

I ended up trying red velvet cheesecake and Black Forest cake! Loved it!

The pastries here re always excellent, but their operations are a mess. It’s very unclear where to go to place your order and the girls who work the front are always very confused about how their own system works. Other locations are much better than this one. By far the LARGEST muffins in New York City lol.

Great place to meet a friend and enjoy a delicious coffee and amazing pastries.

I’m a loyal customer of Martha’s Bakery. But tonight was disappointing. I ordered the Nutella cheesecake. It did not have the slightest taste of Nutella. I thought that maybe it had something to do with ME - so I continued to slowly eat and savor - I had a few more bites while I waited for the Nutella flavor to hit my palate. Halfway through the pastry, I just had to mention it to the waiter. He offered to ask the manager if I could have it removed from my tab. She didn’t accept bc I had already eaten half the cake. I wasn’t bothered by this. I should have complained after the first or second bite. I sure hope that the manager informs the chef. I’m a Huge Nutella fan and know what Nutella tastes like. This shouldn’t be called “Nutella cheescake. ” I felt cheated.
