Match 65 Brasserie reviews
16The food we had was great, unfortunately we never received most of our order. Waited over an hour on food, a good portion of that without any employees in sight. When we told them to cancel the order they brought us another drink as a "sorry". That is why I'm leaving this review, we ordered the soup of the day and fries and never got them. The waiter had to come over and ask us what we ordered even though he wrote it down. Then instead of maybe comping a drink or the appetizer we received, he brought us another drink. I needed food an hour ago. The buffalo mozz was great, the wine and cocktail we had were great. Our service was terrible.
One of my favorite places in New York to have lunch or dinner. Great, unpretentious location and wonderful food and vibe
domt miss out on the profiteroles!
Decent restaurant but the food was below par. It’s about expectations at this French restaurant but they delivered below expectations. The place is very nice indoor and the ambiance is nice too. They also have some seating outside.
Went to Match 65 Brasserie on a recent trip to NYC and it was superb. The foie gras was excellent and the duck a l’orange was stellar. Service was every bit as good as the food. Highly recommended!
Okay, if I could give this place 10 stars I would. We didn't just enjoy delicious food, we had a very memorable overall experience. Seriously such a beautiful spot. The food is easily the best French food on the UES or maybe all of Manhattan? ! We loved it so much, we came back the next afternoon for the brunch menu. Bruno, Maria, Julia, and the woman with the beautiful red lipstick (I feel terrible to have forgotten her name) were so lovely, and took such great care of us. If you want a personable experience and more than just a meal, go here. You will leave wanting more!
We had the steak which was TO DIE FOR. Literally melted in my mouth. The steak and salmon tartare are DELICIOUS. Like I've never had a tartare so good. The chocolate cake for dessert is a must have. The salmon eggs Benedict is easily the best I've ever had. And don't forget to compliment your Benedict with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice.
If you want a restaurant experience that you will be dreaming of for the rest of your life, I insist that you give them a visit. You will be greeted with the best service Manhattan has to offer.
We arrived around 1 hour before closure and waiter rolled his eyes at our arrival. They then laid down on the table all the dishes we had ordered in rapid succession including dessert. Profiteroles were made with industrial chocolate syrup instead of melted chocolat pâtissier. If you want a great French bistro in NYC, I rather recommend Chez Moi in Brooklyn Heights! We go there all the time.
Also music was commercial & loud — why not keep the French bistro vibe by playing some jazz manouche?
We had an exquisite meal at Match 65 this evening. The duck a’la orange was as good or better than meals we have had in France! Fantastic service and unsurpassed food!
We were in NYC for girls weekend and wanted a nice sit down meal. Match was exactly what we were looking for and so much more. Service -Food-Atmosphere were all incredible! We had calamari, escargot, duroc chops, creme brulee. All delicious!
They will not appreciate and give you attitude if you make them think you may stay there longer than 30 minutes or don't order a portion of food that their server doesn't like.
My wife and I were in NYC on the Upper East Side and looking for a nice, neighborhood, authentic French bistro for dinner and randomly came across Match 65 Brasserie. We were very glad we did. Excellent food, terrific wait staff and very warm atmosphere. Definitely recommend Match 65 for a good meal and drink.
We stumbled upon this gem and were just going to have a drink. We ended up having friends join us for an amazing night. Izzie, our bartender was fantastic and the maitre d was awesome and made us feel so welcome. Everything we ordered was delicious. We can't wait to go back.
Fantastic service. Great food. A beautiful place to come back to again and again. Great wine choices too!
One of the GREATEST French bistros I’ve eaten in. Food, ambience, friendliness and warmth if staff. Seriously a wonderful place to spend a few hours.
After calling and making a short notice reservation (even though it wasn’t needed as restaurant was empty) for our 11th Anniversary we were seated and everything went normal. Restaurant was pricy but whatever, it was a special occasion.
As I go pay my overpriced check of almost $300, (again, this was fine as it was a special occasion) I leave a tip (even though it wasn’t mandatory) but nothing was done special for us, nothing above and beyond, and service was “OK” it wasn’t bad, but it was normal. We did spend almost $100 just in drinks.
This dude out of nowhere approaches me and harangues me for leaving such a measly tip ($20 for clarity purpose) immediately starts shouting and calling me out in front of my family and other guests, he then leaves, and comes back to do it again, after I politely told him I understood, he leaves again, to come back a third time to keep hammering this out in everyone’s view.
What a disappointing experience to an excellent meal. The food was great (even thought the panna cota was a little runny), the drinks were nice although over priced as well, but the whole evening was left with a massive bad taste.
Go for good pricy food, avoid for management.
I love that place! The steak frites was delicious and it was a great time to go during the France vs England World Cup game. The mood was warm and energetic. I had my dog too, so they were extremely accommodating and offered him water. They didn’t mind him sitting inside. Thank you for having us.
