Mathias P. Bostrom, MD reviews
7Awful surgeon who does not take responsibility for his mistakes. Right hip replacement left with an effusion and he refused to get an MRI. Fours years later I still have issues with the hip. If you are that arrogant (which he is), then your work had better be perfect, which it isn’t
Dr. Bostrom is an excellent surgeon with a friendly and professional staff. I’m delighted to be playing tennis again with my new knee and hip. Good as the original equipment!
He did both my hips, one 7 years ago and one now - excellent, excellent, excellent, people are shocked on how fast i'm out and about, - i got to him through refuahresources.org that does a lot of research on dr's, and he has great pa's that answer all questions right away - the hospital staff is supper nice and competent - their nurses have "Magnet" status, yet they are very nice and go beyond call of duty not common in a magnet hospital's exacting standards - never had a complaint from anyone i sent to him - it's a 5 star show across the board!
I am not done with my surgeries, but for me Dr. Bostrom has literally saved my life and my leg. I have seen many surgeons over the years and this man is the first one to come to my hospital room every single day after surgery, to see how I was doing. Wow! He is not only a masterful surgeon, he is a doctor with a big heart, and no ego-tough to find in Orthopedic doctors these days.
He maybe a good surgeon for most people but he turned a routine hip replacement into a total disaster and then washed his hands of me.
He did my left hip and it was okay.not great.long recovery but in the end okay. The second hip I was left in worse pain than prior to the surgery and he refused to get an MRI. After three months of pain and inability to walk I went to a second orthopedist who ordered an MRI which showed a huge fluid collection in my hip. I had it drained, cultured (not infected) and had to do a YEAR of additional PT due to the destructive nature of the surgery. The hip is still not normal
He trains fellows and I am convinced that a trainee executed my surgery, bungled it and he covered it up. He is also condescending and an abysmal communicator. All in all I would recommend that you stay FAR AWAY
Excellent and skillful surgeon with great experience. All went very well and great attention to the patients
