Maui North Ski & Bicycle Company LLC reviews
7Yesterday was my first experience with Maui since they moved locations. Amazing, quick, friendly, efficient! I will be going back and giving my business to the local shop and LUNA!
What I love about Maui North the moment you walk up to that store door. It feels like you’re right at home like you know what you’re going to need to get like you know exactly what you want as soon as you walk in the greeting is the smell of brand new, the look of incitement are really amazing.
There was a misunderstanding (on the owner Paul's side) about a bike that I brought in to sell. To be fair, he was out of town and didn't lay eyes on it. However, his employees did not give him an accurate description (or did). The bike was purchased (pre-owned) from the old location on Durkee Street back in 2021. I had been in previously with my son shopping for a bike for him. I mentioned my old bike to the owner (Paul) and was told to bring it in to sell or even get something on trade.
Fast forward a couple weeks and I dropped the bike off. Paul was out of town. After his staff described the bike, I was made an offer the next day. Went to collect and staff could not pay me without Paul in the shop. Was told to come back on a Wednesday. Received a text on Tuesday which explained that the bike wasn't the one he (Paul) thought it was and they weren't interested anymore. I replied that I was confused because it was described accurately by the employees etc. Recieved a short reply of "Yeah, not the bike my guys told me it was, not interested"
I told Paul that I could have sold it to someone else but declined because the offer from his shop was higher. His reply. " If you could have got 350 for it yesterday, I'm sure you would have driven by the shop and grabbed it. Sorry, there was a miscommunication. And your bike is not even worth $400". "I don't need a bunch of your bull$hit" "I want the bike out of my shop today we are open till six". A rediculously juvenile response.
This annoyed me because of the principle, and the disrespectful tone from a business owner. I would have accepted, and been a loyal customer if he would have owned the mistake and offered something for the inconvenience. But his tone was basically whatever, not interested. After all, it WAS a miscommunication between his team and himself. Not my fault.
It took a lot of restraint for me to keep my cool after being disrespected. But I'm a different person than I used to be.
Bottom line. I personally don't recommend this place because the situation could have been handled in a professional and courteous manor, and no resolution for the misunderstanding was offered.
Best pricing on skateboards I've ever seen but not a big selection they have complete boards and un complete, LONG BOARDS TOO!
Great owners. Very knowledgeable and willing to help. Definitely will be going back for all future biking and skiing needs
I agreed to sell my bike at shop since I trusted Paul could do it better than I could. Bike cost me $1k and I figured I should sell since I was not using it. Paul was not successful the first couple of weeks, and it turned into months. Eventually it seemed he was not trying to sell it. I would message periodically and there was always some excuse or reason for the inability to sell. Well, fast forward and at some point Paul decides to move his shop and he stores my bike. He does this without notifying me and the worse thing is, I find out when I go to shop and see it is gone! Paul moved and stored my bike without my consent. When I contact him he says he has moved and the bike went with him. Now, he no longer responds to my request to get my bike back. No offer to pay me or ship it to me. This is theft. I would never encourage anyone to do business with a crook. I discovered that similar situation occurred with my buddy that had his bike parts at same shop. Please beware.
Super knowledgeable shop with an excellent mix of awesome gear and equipment. Great owners that went above and beyond to make our ski package purchase easy and quick.
