Incompetence at its finest: A nightmare Tax "Preparer" - Avoid at All Costs!
I am utterly dismayed and appalled by the sheer level of incompetence displayed by the so-called "tax preparer" I had the misfortune of engaging with. It's as if they took incompetence to an entirely new level, making a mockery of their supposed profession. If I could give them zero stars, I would, because their performance was nothing short of a tragic comedy.
Upon entrusting this individual with my tax preparation, he then farmed it out to another person to take care of when I was paying him to complete it. I took extra precautions by attaching explicit instructions on sticky notes, outlining every single detail that needed attention and these sticky notes might as well have been invisible for all the good they did. It's astonishing how someone can completely disregard clearly outlined instructions and still have the audacity to claim they provide a service.
But wait, there's more! Not only did they overlook the instructions I painstakingly provided, but they also managed to vanish into thin air when I attempted to rectify their egregious errors. Oh, how I tried to reach out to this elusive tax "professional. " Countless calls went unanswered, voicemails were left unreturned, and emails disappeared into a black hole of negligence. It's almost as if their incompetence was so overwhelming that they couldn't even summon the basic courtesy to address their blunders.
The true measure of a tax preparer's worth is their ability to accurately prepare and file returns in a timely manner. In this regard, Anthony Mauriello, has failed spectacularly. As I sit here, 16 months later, STILL waiting for the tax return money that I am owed, I cannot believe what his colossal ineptitude has cost me. It's not just the monetary loss that has infuriated me, but the precious time and peace of mind that have been ruthlessly stolen. Tax season is stressful enough without having to battle against a supposed expert who turns out to be nothing more than a master of incompetence.
In conclusion, if you value your sanity, your hard-earned money, and your faith in the concept of professional integrity, do yourself an immense favor and run, don't walk, away from this tax preparer. They are a shining example of everything that can go wrong when you place your trust in the wrong hands. Save yourself the headache, the heartache, and the exasperation. You deserve better than this pitiable excuse for a tax preparer.

I had a concerning experience with Mauriello Enterprises. I recently received a document from them containing a social security number, and it was sent through an unsecured email. This raised serious security and privacy concerns for me. I expected better practices when it comes to handling sensitive information.

This place has put me through the ringer for the past 2 years, they made a very expensive error & don’t want to take responsibility. Rather then trying to justify “ there” screw up, they want to charge an additional fee for there error! I Highly would NOT recommend using there services. FYI: I would NOT owe money, had your employee did his job correctly. My advise DONT USE there services. And before you respond learn the facts, the error caused a 2 year tax be spread out this is why last year it was an additional charge.

Very unprofessional manners. My mom and I had our taxes done last year with his services and had no issues. Everything was fine as we didn’t have very much to report. But my mom (as she’s getting older in age was looking for a new accountant nearby for more convenience). She let him know via email in a way that I found to be courteous, that she decided to go with another accountant nearby and even thanked him for his service last year. He replied back with an incredibly rude comment “UGGGHHHH”. I’ve written over thousands of emails in my lifetime and would never think twice about writing that to a customer, especially just for having a change of heart. I think a simple “Sorry to see you go” would have surely sufficed. Behavior like that is a sure way to lose future business or referrals. The funny thing is, I would have given him 4/5 stars for his level of efficiency considering how busy tax season gets. But for his level of professionalism and crude behavior alone, it would take my rating down to a zero. I only gave 1 star in order to leave this review. Really disappointed.

There was a misunderstanding that was handled in a great manner. Mr. Mauriello is very understanding! I would recommend his services.
