Mexican Restaurant Mayahuel reviews
16My second time here, the food is great, service is impeccable—shout out to Mo who was superb—will 100% be back again and again and again, yes, yes y’all!
Mayahuel is one of the best Taco Tuesday places I’ve been to. The deal is 3 tacos (can’t mix and match) and 1 margarita (+$2 for flavor) for $16. We got the chorizo y pulpo tacos and the carne asada tacos. The chorizo y pulpo was a weird combination, but still delicious. The carne asada was the star of the show, as it was perfectly cooked. For the margaritas, we got a frozen passion fruit and frozen mango which were decently strong. We also got nachos as the appetizer, which was huge, and flan for dessert. It’s a more dense flan, but so delicious! Would definitely return. 5/5 stars.
Handmade tortillas, hard to find, yet alone in a place that serves solid cocktails. Wide variety of mezcals to boot!
Really fantastic spot for a date night— sultry interior. Food was absolutely incredible. I got the salmon special for the evening and only wish it was on the menu all the time, it was so good. Drinks were really fantastic as well. Our server was Moe and he took great care of our table!
My fiancé and I LOVE Mayahuel! We came across it unexpectedly and are now come regularly for a great Mexican dinner. Their nachos are enough for us to both share as a meal. Their chorizo is outstanding, and so is their Mexican corn. Cant say enough good things. 10/10 recommend!
Came with some friends for the first time and the food and drinks did not disappoint. Definitely will be coming back!
Discovered this place while randomly walking the area and it is now a part of the weekly rotation of restaurants we visit. They have a Taco Tuesday special where you get tacos and a margarita for 16 bucks. It’s a great deal! And Mo was an excellent server. Very attentive.
This is the best Mexican food restaurant that I ever try! I enjoy every single dish! So amazing food, my family was delightful with the drinks and the food, and the desert omg! This place deserve a Michelin star, the attention of the waiter was increíble and the manager too. Definitely my #1 option in Mexican food! I can’t wait for try all the food in the menu!
Nice atmosphere for this Mexican restaurant in Astoria. Friendly service with a great cocktail menu and expansive entree options.
This is more modern Mexican with twists on tacos and some traditional entrees. The nachos were really good and would highly recommend. Everyone in my family enjoyed their tacos. The carne Asada was very tasty and the octopus and chorizo tacos were an interesting combo that worked for me!
I also really liked the Mango Milk Punch cocktail. Everyone else enjoyed their margaritas. I would come back for a nice night out.
Excellent food, great service, and beautiful atmosphere. Brunch was a must, and I’m excited to try dinner!
Great attentive service and best authentic chiles en nogada I’ve tried in NYC so far. I also recommend the the aguachile. Nice decor and ergonomic wooden chairs. Great cocktail options. Authentic Mexican food (I’m Mexican born and raised). I hope you sustain this level of quality over time.
I absolutely love this place! Every time we go here we love the food and experience. We always get a friendly greeting, and the food is off the charts. I wish this place nothing but the best!
This place is absolutely amazing I love everything! Definitely the Tuesday tacos is a a good deal too?
This place is amazing! Feels a bit undiscovered right now, but I hope it explodes in popularity. Went here for brunch and the huevos rancheros were fantastic. My partner got the Cafe de olla, yum! And she also got the French toast - let me tell you I'm not a big french toast person, but they make it look soooo good here. Strawberries, cream, bananas - and the most interesting bread! So beatiful. Will be back to try the dinner soon!
Service was extremely slow event though there were only few tables. Bussers just walked by the table and they never clear the empty plates out of the way!
