Mayflower Day Spa, West Islip NY

I’ve been a customer of Mayflower since long before I lived in the area. I was pretty shocked to learn that Mary and her staff were no longer there and honestly perplexed that the new (I assumed) owners didn’t want to answer the questions of customers in the salon that day. It’s not that their answers were just curt or rude, sometimes they acted like they couldn’t hear them! A simple “Under new management” sign would have helped. Instead the walls are now covered with pricing, product advertisements, and service descriptions. A very different vibe from the years when Mary was in charge. The atmosphere doesn’t seem to be worth the drive from towns over.

The nail tech who did my gel manicure was honestly very nice and efficient with her time. My nails looked beautiful. However, my manicure from Sunday afternoon has already chipped after a mere three days.

No longer owned by Mary: (all new staff.only went for Rosie. Booked an appointment last week with Mary and showed up and it was all new staff. I had no choice since they were honoring my gift card, but the gel manicure was not the best, chipped in a week. I will be looking for a new manicurist, after 15 years at this salon: (
