McSorley’s Old Ale House reviews
14 McSorley's is the home of our family outing tradition for the past 20+ years. I even kicked off my bachelorette party festivies in the back room.
It is simply light or dark ale and leaves everything else left to having a great time. Over the years, we have created life-long memories not only for our family and friends but with visitors from all over the world. We have challenged FD & PD from NY & NJ to waterfall challenges and won! It's rich history, and staff makes it truly a one of a kind experience. As they say, BE GOOD OR GO HOME!
What a great bar of all bars. It's history is all over the walls and proudly passed on by bartenders and patrons alike.
Probably one of the most fun bars in the city. Simple selection, but fun staff. The place had a very lively ambience and is offering a unique experience in a city with a touch of history
I love it here - it is a must for anytime I am in NY. All the attractions in NY show you jhow the city used to look, McSorleys shows you how it was for real and how it felt
Brilliant spot with unreal history on the walls, dark beer very nice, staff very friendly and welcoming. Hands down the best Irish bar I’ve been outside of Ireland. Fair play
This was one of the highlights of my trip to NYC. The atmosphere of this place is like nothing I've ever experienced - it was so fun and welcoming while feeling like you're in 1854 when it opened. Come here to drink beer, have a ton of laughs, and soak in the spontaneous nature of the city!
Great atmosphere in an Irish restaurant in Manhattan, interesting decor, good beer, I recommend it.
This Irish pub's got budget-friendly eats and two kinds of tasty beer: a lighter one and a darker, bitter option. Food's fine but nothing to write home about. Worth a visit if you're looking for a cheap pint.
We were walking around late and we could hardly get anything to drink. Then my girlfriend had the idea to visit McSorley's, we enjoyed the hospitality and the fantastic interior. Absolutely recommended! Back in time 100 years, since 1854, go there!
Amazing beer bar with food options. Archaic wooden interior - tables, floors, walls. Tried the light and the dark beer. Got a fried chicken sandwich and a corned beef hash - delicious and at a good price.
Came for some beer to watch a football game. Great service. Cash only. Old pictures/newspaper articles on the wall from a long time ago. Full of history.
Another NYC incunabulum. There they only serve very good blonde or dark beer (don't order Coca-Cola or any other soft drink or wine, they won't serve it because they simply don't have it) accompanied by a hamburger, cheddar dishes, pate with sliced bread, everything with the Irish influence of the oldest tavern in NY.
P. S.: if you order a beer they will bring you 2, it is tradition. Cash only.
If you want to go back in time over a hundred years and feel the atmosphere of an old pub, you've come to the right place. No other pub I drank in had such an atmosphere. There are only two types of beers on offer (light and dark), but that's enough. The mugs are a bit small, so it's worth taking more.
I didn't eat the food, so I can't judge.
Great old pub - even sawdust on the floor!
White or dark beer served - keeps it simple!
Attentive service too
