Melting Pot Cuisine reviews
17Look, if you want good, authentic Jamaican food you will find it here. Everything is clean including the bathroom but there is no ambiance, not a date spot but you can bring your husband or friends
I visited this place while visiting New York City and I ordered ox tails with red beans and rice, Mac n cheese and an order of jerk chicken Rasta pasta. The Rasta pasta was made to order and very flavorful but they were extremely stingy with the chicken. The man n cheese was dry and I overcooked the oxtails were chewy and under seasoned.
The food is so good! And the ppl very nice. Ready-made food and lots of seating…best of both worlds. Very convenient, delicious, low stress dinner situation. Oxtail stewed chicken
Delicious food, terrible service. I was put on hold over 5 minutes for a phone order. I eventually had to walk out. Server should prioritize a hungry customer in front of them rather than someone over the phone. No etiquette! Needs better management. No wonder it’s always empty. Went across the street to The Greeks Grill where upon entry I was greeted and asked if I’d like to stay- sure enough, I did!
So they don’t serve small orders. Medium and up only.they are very expensive. $14 for a medium stew chicken. A far cry from the flavors and reasonable prices in Flatbush brooklyn
Curry and jerk chicken Patties are great! The crust have a nice buttery taste. Was a 14 min walk from my job, but it was worth it. I will be back for more.
Awesome place & food. We came back after 7 years with friends commemorating Christmas season. Also the Lord blessed a adored snow day
This restaurant is very accommodating the food is absolutely delicious, the kids did for my anniversary and I recommend them for every event absolutely the number one to go to I’m quite please.
The staff are painfully slow, and disorganized, and can't follow directions despite having written them down.
The food is okay at best, not worth the hassle
The card machine doesn't work, and they don't accept 100 dollar bills
They don't have all of the food or drinks on the menu prepared, or in house which isn't corroborated with their website. So if you want a peanut punch good luck.
They don't assemble your food until you arrive even though I called it in 30min ahead, and ordered it 25 min ahead on another day.
Their calaloo is very, very oily
They don't wrap their food when they hand it off to you, so expect a messy bag when you get to your house.
And despite saying they cook their fish to order you can see it sitting on a steam table when you walk in.
They are never on time with opening they’re business, when it clearing show that they open at 7am and never have food ready. How do you run a business the way they do, it just makes no sense at all
The food was terrible the customer service was terrible. We spent money trying to support my fellow west Indian family but never again!
Love this place. As a Guyanese person living in LIC area, this is the ONLY place with authentic Caribbean flavor. Go ahead and get you the large plate bc you’ll def want the leftovers! Keep up the great work
Tried their food out for the first time and it was pretty amazing. I recommend trying them out if you in the mood for something delicious to eat.
Mac and cheese wasn't very fresh Hardened cheese on the outside of the macaroni which was stuck together so hard i couldn't cut it with the plastic fork. I was so hungry but after one bite I had to toss it
Brought stew chicken dinner terrible over cooked. Cabbage terrible. Rice & peas terrible. Gravy terrible. With that said I wasted good money $$$. I gave the uneaten portion to the homeless that inhabit LIC! If you want "palatable" Jamaican food in LIC try "Island Foodie" on 12th street off of 21st. (across from the Queensbridge projects) they even have a lunch special at $6 and change!
Yooooo as a NC boy, I've gotta say this is some of the best FOOD I've ever had, regardless of ethnicity, culture etc. Awesome spot, friendly, welcoming staff and amazing cuisine. When I get back to NC I'll be ready to do some BBQ Jamaican style!
I had the goat curry with rice and beans, it was delicious, filling and spicy! Staff was friendly and portion size was huge for the price. Will definitely visit again!
