Terribly slow service. ER seems severely understaffed or incompetent due to the horrendous wait time to get tests, results, someone to update you, etc. There was a lady in the hospice program next to me in the ER crying out in pain all day for the nurses to see her only twice in 9 hours, and give her attitude and not coopoerate all while she was crying in pain and choking on her own phlegm. I've had more efficient service from hospitals in the ghetto. This needs to be rectified.

They take your coinsurance and deductible before your procedure! That is outrageous. We pay high taxes and high premiums which pay for those on government assistance. However they get better care than the hard working middle class! The least Mercy Hospital could do is work a payment plan after your procedure. You are trying to get better but their policy adds more stress to your pain! What kind of care is that? !

Did not test me for C. Diff until I asked despite having the symptoms. They gave me IV ampicillin because they “didn’t think my colitis was caused by antibiotics, ” even though it happened following antibiotic treatment. They then discharged me with amoxicillin which is a strange choice to prescribe for a colonic infection to begin with. The next day the C. Diff test came back and was positive. The amoxicillin would have made me much worse by killing more healthy bacteria in my intestines while not touching the C. Difficile. Luckily I did not take it. Since they did not know I had C. Diff and took no extra precautions when I was in the ER, both bathrooms were contaminated and a lady in her 90s used the bathroom after me. Hopefully she will be okay.

I had surgery at Mercy a few days ago. I have been to quite a few hospitals throughout my life. However, I was never treated as well as I was at Mercy. From doctors, to security, admins, housekeepers, to the nurses. Everyone was very polite, professional and extremely helpful. On top of that the hospital is spotless, I’ve been working in hospitals for some time and this is the cleanest I’ve seen so far. The staff on 3p deserve so much praise, especially the nurses. They were kind, understanding, and went above and beyond to care for their patients. I will definitely be back to this hospital for my care going forward. Thank you for caring and turning what is usually a very stressful or frustrating, into a very positive experience.

This hospital is fantastic. The care my husband received was exceptional. He is mentally ill and had a serious head injury. The ICU nurses and doctors were so dedicated and caring.the best! Thank you

I had no idea they changed the name. I went here for a hand laceration. Usual waiting room procedure, "Fill out paperwork even though you can't write sir. " Now go sit and wait! I ended up being there over an hour before I was seen to have stitches put in. I was sent to Express Care instead of the regular emergency room. In speaking to the
doctor, he told me that it's very busy on
emergency room side. Pretty thankful to be able to go get care and leave. I would rather a long wait and go home than to be in the emergency room with who knows what's going on overnight. The staff was friendly.

Be aware there are students there as well. So your actual care may not come from the doctor or even a nurse
Ended up with the stitches and of course went home. I cannot say it is any better or worst than any other place from an emergency room perspective. Luckily I have not had to have any
major surgeries warranting a stay in the hospital. That type of hospital visit review would have to come from someone else.

Hopefully I stay healthy and won't have toreview it at all again!

I had surgery a little over 2 weeks ago. I will NEVER go to another hospital again. The staff was amazing. Everyone was so nice and caring and made sure I felt safe and comfortable. When I say everyone, I mean everyone. The janitor, transport, security, unit aids, nurses, doctors and reception and everyone in between all treated me with respect and were very friendly.
When I am nervous I tend to talk and joke around, the staff responded with laughter and talked TO me not AT me.
They also treated my husband with the same kindness and made sure he was up to date on everything that was going on with my surgery.
I have another surgery coming up on April so I look forward to seeing the staff again!

This hospital is the worst hospital. I waited for 5 hours just to see the triage nurse and still have not seen the doctor. I feel that I will be spending the night here. I don’t recommend any person to come here. This hospital needs to close down for good. Or get a new owner

If I could give 5 stars it would go to specific staff… But this 1 star (because I can’t choose 0) goes to some of the staff on the 2nd floor 2K who treated me so inhumane upon discharge. I was admitted for 5 days after a spinal surgery and upon discharge Nurse Phyllis was upset that I my clothes were still in the hospital property bag… was upset that I did not have a dress or that no one brought me a dress to change into… was upset that my belongings were on a nightstand that would mean she needed to move a chair in order to get to them… and became extremely upset when I stated I needed to use the commode before getting ready. She told the nice RN (Rita) “she’s not even ready, I’m not doing all of this, I’m going to check on my real patients” and left. I proceeded to get ready on my own as I expressed to Rita in agony due to the pain that should not have had to fend on my own and get ready on my own. I had spinal surgery on Friday and have not even walked more than 30 steps at the point of discharge. So Rita went on a mission looking for a wheelchair and after 30 min she returned with one. She gets me rest to go and from what I heard it was too busy for her to leave the floor so she advised someone else to do it- they said no because they were pregnant and didn’t feel like it. The next person Darcy (I believe), a secretary, was given the directive. Upon wheeling me out of the room she asks me if I had someone downstairs because she’s only taking me to the lobby. I said ok. Rita informed her she had to make sure I made it safely to the car she then starts going back and forth with Rita about not feeling combinable doing that. Someone else talked from the end of the hallway that they need my wheelchair that Rita searched high and low for- but if they had did their rounding they would’ve seen an unoccupied wheelchair by the elevator. Darcy then walked away to talk about me to the rest of the staff and I chimed in to say the truth. I am Healthcare Administrative Director and it is extremely unprofessional to disregard a directive or belittle a patient right in front of said patient. Please show me the policy or job description that states it is not in their job description to do such tasks. It’s disgusting that this is the way the staff treats their incapacitated patients. Phyllis needs to be transferred to an outpatient department and Darcy needs to works in a non-patient facing area.
Thank you to the physical therapists.physician assistants, PCA’s- especially Shaneeza & Wendell, RN’s Kassie & Rita that did their job to the fullest extent to take care of me throughout my post care. I will not be coming back here nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

My 99 year old mom was admitted in early December 2022 with heavy pneumonia like symptoms. She was not tested for covid until days later when she was about to be transferred to a nursing home and the home required the test. She tested positive. By then it was too late for mom to receive Paxlovid, which could have mitigated her illness. Her roommate and visitors were exposed to covid. Please improve your covid testing protocols!
