Met Fresh Supermarket reviews
15I’ve been to this market a few times. I would only buy the necessities from this market. Do not buy meat produce or frozen items. This market has a tendency of hiding the expiration date and covering it with the price sticker. I bought meat and when I got home it had a bad smell. The frozen items are soft and not frozen, which tells me the refrigeration must not be working.
Yesterday I bought a family pack of chicken thighs home and prepared to clean it before seasoning it. As I went to remove the skin I noticed there were yellow lesions on the chicken skin. Thinking it might have just been that one peice, I threw it out only to find out that every single peice of chicken had yellow lesions on its skin. I ended up throwing out the entire thing in disgust. Not sure what that was but I would not advise ANYONE to purchase meat from this store.
I generally love this supermarket because their produce is fresh and affordable but I went there today and they were actually trying to sell Ezekiel 4: 9 bread for $8.99. Now I know that bread is expensive because it’s higher in nutrition than regular bread but that is highway robbery especially when Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s has it for half that price. So, sorry not sorry! Let someone else pay the $8.99. I went to Whole Foods and bought it for HALF PRICE!
It's a very small place. Their prices are ridiculously exaggerated, social distancing on the lines were absent.definitely a store where you can get sick because they let people in with no mask.
I dont really shop there I just drop in for things here and there because its convenient on my way home. Its right in front of my bus stop I use to get home.
I really enjoy shopping at Met food market. It is well stocked, clean, the cashiers are quick and attentive to customers. I would recommend the store to my neighbors, and friends.
Shelves are full of expired food. I accidentally picked up a few items that were expired. I had to return them. Also the store is not well organized and items are dusty like they have been there too long. Be careful when you are shopping here.
Don't buy the meat. Don't buy the fish. Don't buy the chicken. All the meat in this store is a 5th grade quality. And there is absolutely no service. I wouldn't feed the food that they sell to a starving dog.
Fruit and vegetables on sale in the front of the store with a separate store on the right to handle meat. Inside a bread rack will greet you to your right. Meat is pretty cheap and I recommend the Deli counter in the back left of the store for its chicken. Lots of package food available although the best deals are you gotta search up ahead of time. Lines might be a bit backed up.
Prices are a bit high, small selection in the produce department. Most of the cashiers act like they are ready to leave work and don't care about customer service.
Horrible management, very unprofessional staff, horrible and expired food. If you're having a problem going to the bathroom then feel free to shop here because their merchandise will definitely give you the runs.
Occasional great deals but it's kinda tight in there and needs more cashiers at high volume times.
This Met food is pretty standard for a Flatbush supermarket. Narrow aisles, frustration navigating all the people with their carts. What makes it stand out is the prepared foods section. Everything is SUPER cheap, and portions are huge. That's what I go here for.
This is by far the WORSE supermarket I have ever experienced. TERRIBLE customer service (I witnessed a cashier arguing with a customer and a lot of workers are unsure of what the supermarket sells), a lot of expired food, and hardly any quality food options (i.e. Organic foods are few and far between). Although this supermarket is a convenient distance from my house, I will no longer shop there.
Too much expired food, too much food that's going to be expired within 3 days and the staff even eating ice cream and they put it back in the freezer for all the other ice creams are for sale and I accidentally bought one once that was half eaten n they're like oh I'm so sorry I forgot to take it out SMH very unprofessional and the supermarket is so small
