Mexican Restaurant El Cilantro reviews
19Really authentic mexican food that'll satisfy anyone's cravings. Service is great and prices are affordable!
The carnitas tacos were pretty good but the “steak” burrito was terrible. I tried to have an open mind after living in New Mexico for 8 years but this just doesn’t come close. No fresh in house chips here and I’m pretty sure this “Mexican” restaurant is inside a diner.
Ordered the Mole Chicken dinner. Consisted of one tiny Chicken thigh and a boatload of Mole sauce. Barely any rice or beans. The chicken was tender and the Mole sauce good, although spicier than any other I have had. Came with three tortillas and nothing else. Took about 15-20 minutes.
There was so little food I heated up some left over chicken and used up the rest of the sauce to at least make it a meal.
This is complete ripoff for $15. One small chicken thigh is not a meal by any means and the measly amount of sides didn't help. The place looked kind of dark and small inside, but seemed clean.
Ordered from them a year ago and the delivery never showed up.was in the mood for Mexican and ordered again tonight and nothing, no phone answer, nothing.its a shame i probably would have ordered a lot if it was good.if you feel like ordering food at 4 pm and not getting any (from another more expensive restaurant) till after 8.hit these guys up.no idea how they still have the ability to take orders.does anyone get their food?
Excellent enchiladas verde, excellent guacamole. My son likes their beef tongue tacos. The restaurant interior is not too comfortable, but this is a great place for takeout.
Incredibly delicious with fresh ingredients. The real thing. I think they even soak dry beans overnight, rather than get them from a can, because the beans literally melt in your mouth. Well worth looking for. I love the decor too, would buy the tablecloths and decorations if I could - check out the ceiling fan.
One of the best mexican places! Tortillas were amazing and home made. Excellent service. Good portions. 100% recommended.
We normally love Mexican food and were really anxious to try this place as the reviews looked great. My guy's Burrito had absolutely no flavor.no seasoning. My Enchiladas with mole sauce, unfortunately. Needless to say, we would not recommend.
Spot on! We ordered steak tacos, rice, guacamole/chips, & chicken soup. It was all delicious but the soup was amazing! I am a bit of a soup lover. Thank you, friend, for a great dinner. We will be returning.
I had the carnitas tacos. On a freezing cold December night, enjoying their delicious and authentic food was like being transported to sunny warm Oaxaca and far from the cold. Exquisito
Authentic mexican food. Best that I have experienced since moving to update NY. You can order corn tortillas & they are homemade right in restraint. Highly recommend!
This place was amazing. Super yummy and authentic. The chilli relleno was out of this world. We will be going back.
This is a small out of the way in guessing family owned and run authentic mexical place few items on menu. I have had three so far and absolutly amazing wonderful! I have had food like this many times out west and this is very, similar and its close to home will be going, nack for sure. Like tonight
The price for quality and taste isn't worth it but maybe I'm biased where I was raised with favorable good quality restaurants back in IL.
This was the best authentic Mexican food I have ever eaten. Service was excellent, restaurant very clean. Truly the best quesadilla I have ever had and I have eaten a lot of quesadilla's!
The food here is unlike any Mexican restaurant we've tried in the Capital District. Truly made-from-scratch dishes, many of which I've never tried. For lunch today, I had the chicken pozole- wow! Never had it before, but now it is a favorite. Very attentive waitstaff. Give this restaurant a try- you'll be back.
Best authentic Mexican restaurant in the Capital District! Wow! Couldn't believe how great the food was and how reasonable the prices are! All dishes are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Service was excellent! If you enjoy Mexican food, this is a need to go place! I highly recommend! We'll definitely be regular customers! They're just West of 50 and north of Front street. If you're heading north from the Village and see Ocean State Job Lot, you've gone too far!
Meh. When we pulled up on a Friday evening, the were no other customers. Service was good, food wasn't bad but wasn't anything to rave about. And then they didn't have guacamole. A Mexican restaurant that ran out of guacamole? Whos ever heard of such a thing? Not terrible but not fantastic either. Just.meh?
My friend and I were looking for good food yesterday and found this hidden gem I must apologize for stopping by close to closing time.the service was great, food outstanding (authentic and fresh) this is real Mexican food! If you want real Mexican food this is the place to go.
