Michaels, Stony Brook NY

I went here to drop off a UPS package at Michaels. The older lady with glasses didn’t really know how to work the UPS scanner and the Indian female coworker walked over to help her. Everything seemed ok when I left because I received a confirmation email from Michaels. This was a time sensitive item and I haven’t had problems dropping off packages at UPS drop off points.

Fast forward, there’s no movement in the system and it shows it was never picked up by UPS despite me calling and Michaels confirming that the UPS guy came to pick it up. I called UPS and they confirmed there’s no scan and it hasn’t been picked up. I called Michaels AGAIN and the Indian female hung up the phone on me. I called again and the same lady I dropped off the package with answered and put me on hold while she looked for my package. She then told me it was picked up today and their system is slow and to wait.

I don’t recommend this store whatsoever. This was a time sensitive item that I trusted in their care and now it’s lost. Why advertise to be a Ups drop off point if your store isn’t organized?

Love this Michaels! Always well stocked! Just added self checkout so should help with the lines! Staff is super helpful!

Michaels was a sheer Delight. Everything was organized and beautiful. The cashier was nice and pleasant. I will return for more shopping.

So this place is ok. It’s a hit or miss if they have stilted in stock. Most clean and friendly. They put in mostly def check outs so I will most likely be shopping else where. Sad to see they are losing the human factor, but oh well. I’ll either shop at another one or some where else all together.

I was greeted, helped & rung up by the most pleasant young man, he was the only one on register & an absolute pleasure! We need more customer service like him, wish I got his name

Don’t do it! The WORST lay out. Nothing is grouped together or organized. Nothing Makes sense here. Good luck getting to your car as there is a retaining wall and no ramp for a cart. You literally have to jump down 5 feet.

They didn't have what I was looking for. The mechanisms for a tide clock. They did have it for a regular clock replacement. Also looked for small solar lights for inside my windows. None found.
Also couldn't find cute decorative wall nightlights.

I never find the odd item I am searching for at Michaels. I usually use their coupons to buy something I don't need. Waste of money and time.

Love the selection! My first time going to micheals, and I love how you get to test out pens/markers. The staff was also nice and friendly!

I've started crocheting amigurmi. I purchased crochet hooks, tapestry threads and needles, and some yarns. Everything I've purchased is alright, I just wish they carried more yarn colors in the store.

They send endless emails with offers for discounts on many items and $5 off coupons but every time I go in all the discounts and coupons don't apply to the items I'm buying. Very frustrating and is making me explore other options for art supplies.

This was actually my first time placing an online order and going to pick it up in store. That being said, the woman at the cash register was BEYOND rude and completely unhelpful to me. I wasn't sure how it worked or where I go to pick the order up, if I hsdnto wait in line with the other shoppers or not. Jist asking I got a nasty attitude from her! I had no problem waiting in line, I was planning on shopping and making an instore purchase anyway as well. So I gathet what I wanted additional to my order and waited. She calls me down and then was again rude! Interupted what I was saying, condescended me for no reason over explaining I had to wait for someone else to open thr thing behind her thrn cut that off and rudely told me to go "over there" as she throws her hands to point at the rack and search for my order.which wasnt there it was unclear to anyone why.turns out it was behind her locked up and she did have a key.she opens it grans my stuff and rudely says Look at that IT WAS HERE and slams it down on the counter and tells me Thank You!? Very uncomfortable shopping experience. That woman is awful!

Great selection. Great sales. Customer service was great at the desk. Only downside is the accessibility. Half the ramps are really precarious in a wheelchair. Otherwise, absolutely fantastic!
