Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum reviews
13I thought this was a nice kids museum at an affordable price. Some of the exhibits are run down, yes, but most of them are pretty cool and fun for kids. It wasn't too crowded, and most of the kids were decently behaved which was a huge plus. It's a great location, too - central in the Hudson Valley. Most definitely will be back.
Went there for my daughter's 1st birthday. Staff was friendly and they had some hands on art activity that was nice to do with the kids. Downside was that it was extremely warm/muggy like the inside of an indoor pool area. I did ask the staff about it and they claimed that they had air on. I do regret going now even though staff was nice I didn't see anyone cleaning the stations down during our visit and not all the stations had hand sanitizer available. There were a lot of people that day so we only stayed about a hour.
First floor is terrible. Its no different than a home setup just with more room. Food and objects to play with are very old and there's not even much of it. Could spend less than a thousand dollars and make it great. Second floor is much better
My 14 month old had a great time and didnt want to go home even after over 2 hours of being here. But the heat was terribly high in there — I had a headache from the heat and my phones camera shut off because it said my phone was too hot. It was nauseating how hot it was.
The place is pretty small and there arent many activities here. It didnt look well kept either, the exposed wall by the wooden blocks looked like the wood was splintering.
Easy parking, and surprisingly a lot of fun activities for kids (some are interesting also for their parents). We were on Saturday morning in September, but it wasn't busy.
Great place for the kids and parents alike (and Grandparents). Buying tickets in advance isn't necessary. Don't remember the admission fee because we bought the MEMBERSHIP. That how much fun your little one will have
A very cool place for the kids to go. It has several rooms and spaces for different age groups. My kid is almost 2 years old and was able to interact with almost everything. He had an absolute blast. Simple enough for any age to explore yet complex enough that older kids could start to understand the real science behind the exhibits. I look forward to returning.
I been there with my daughter and her children. It was so much fun, you can bring your own food and drink, there is a room were you can sit and eat.
Your kids will absolutely love this place its a bit pricey on a day to day basis I recommend getting the year membership if your planning multiple visits in a year time frame
Just an okay children's museum. Did not get a membership but it was fun for the one time.
Great place. Good for a family outting with young kids under 10. The ground floor is mostly for younger kids (under 3) and the second floor has more STEM related items.
Super fun for our 2 and 5 year-old boys! Not too crowded and LOTS to do. We eventually had to drag them out of there to go home for dinner.
It’s a small but entertaining place for little kids (I would say especially for 7 and under age group). Any older may be bored pretty quickly.
The 1st floor had a play town set up on one side (fire truck, kitchen area, grocery store area and mechanics area). The the other side had a indoor playground and large wooden train track set-up, the best thing my kids enjoyed for quite some time were these air tunnels where you funnel small colored handkerchiefs through.
The 2nd floor, was definitely for the slightly older kids with all the cool science stations and a larger area for exploring and hands on activities.
All area seemed to be working and clean and sorted nicely.
There was no food/cafe but they had vending machines and an area to sit and eat if you bring your own.
It was a little pricey for what it is but all in all my kids enjoyed it! We stayed about 2-3 hrs.
