Mid Island Internal Medicine, Ronkonkoma NY

My name is Christina Fleck and have been a patient at this practice for many years. The two doctors here are very good which is why I switched my grandmother to the practice two years ago. My grandmother is 79 years old and was experiencing fevers and nausea. Due to the nausea she wasn't eating or drinking any fluids. My grandmother said she thought she has a UTI. She called to make an appointment and the office was nice enough to fit her in their schedule. My grandmother drives from Brentwood to Ronkonkoma and was a half hour late to the appointment. Maybe even 45 minutes late. She said she had to stop to get her depends due to an over active bladder and then hit a little traffic on the way. I couldn't take her myself because I work for the state and was mandated. When my grandmother got there they refused to see her because she was late. My grandmother is now in the hospital with Sepsis, which means the infection is now in her blood. How dare this office turn away a 79 year old woman who was already burning up with fevers the day she went there. It should not have matter how late my grandmother was. One look at her and you could tell something was wrong. I thought doctors took an oath? So "SCREW" your schedule. I will no longer be going to this practice and I found my grandmother another PCP closer to home.
