Mister Chen reviews
18Simply the best. The dishes are a cut above the rest, no contest. The soup dumplings are delightful, the honey glazed ribs are finger licking good. There's this chicken dish (forgot the name) that is out of this world amazing. It's spicy but so good my kids bear the burn b/c they can't resist the urge to eat more.
RUN don’t walk to enjoy a meal here. Well run to order for delivery because that’s what we did. We got steamed chicken & string beans with brown sauce, pork soup dumpling, pan fried chicken dumpling & orange beef. The soup dumplings were our favorite, the orange beef was spicy but we love spice, the chicken dumpling had corn in it which we didn’t expect but enjoyed. The dumpling sauce was fire just like the food. They did forget my brown sauce but I didn’t mind it because the dumplings were soul fixing! Ordered from door dash took less than 30min on a Saturday evening. BONUS!
Haven’t had better soup dumplings outside of China. Only complaint is that the dumplings kind of stick to the plate but it’s not a huge issue
Soup dumplings and you don't even have to go to Queens. Menu has a combination of great Taiwanese, Shanghainese, and Sichuan dishes.
We regularly order take-out from Mr Chen’s & think this is the best Chinese/American restaurant in the area. Soup dumplings, lettuce cups, Szechuan dumplings in chili oil, sesame chicken, and beef with ginger and scallion are our favorites.
Food was good. Service needs improvement. Server wouldn't come over for anything unless we flagged them down.
This food is amazing. We literally cannot stop eating it. We over order so we can eat leftovers. I want to hug the chef and send them selfies of me making finger hearts. You won't be disappointed.
Go in person and go early if it's a weekend! Get the soup dumplings! Make sure you learn how to eat them. I'm In love. Mr. Chen's was the American and Chinese place I've been waiting for. It's all the dishes we loved as kids, plus new ones, plus made to perfection. Give up your greasy take out place and go here!
The food was acceptable but the service reached comic levels. There were people waiting to be seated and nobody receiving or assigning the tables. After a long waiting and some self-organizing, we were seated and we ordered right away. They brought the soups, with no spoons!? The beverages never came, and after 3 attempts they finally brought them, with the wrong juices!
We asked for soy sauce, that we ended up taking from another table because they never provided it. I have never seen that level of service. Too bad!
If I could give this food a 0 I would. Ordered chicken pan fried noodles bland dead and dry, shrimp and broccoli the shrimp was horrible quality the broccoli was so overcooked it was gummy and that sauce had an awful flavor. The white rice was old. Possibly from old oil used in cooking. Pork dumplings were ok but barely ok. Are my standards too high? Others are giving high scores to this place which I can't understand.
Disappointed in this place lately. Spent $100 on take out and most of it was inedible. The wontons in the wonton soup disintegrated on your mouth and had a terrible aftertaste. The spare ribs were all fat as tasted like old oil. The fried rice was underwhelming. The chicken and broccoli and pork buns were good but don’t think I’d order from them again.
Food is okay. Service is decent, feeling like a crowded place when it isn't crowded. On a cold day, temperature fluctuates between hot and cold.
Delish! Great service and overall dining experience! C'mon on out and give it a try! You wont regret it!
I am from Taiwan and I have to say that the food here is awesome! We ordered 12 dishes and I gave 11 of them 5 stars. I really appreciate the restaurant and am impressed by their menu. Their authentic food made me feel that I brought my in-law family to Taiwan~
Apparently delivered to the wrong address. Told me another 90 minutes for delivery. I said that was unacceptable and owner screamed curse words at me. I was calm the whole time. Owner told me wasn’t going to deliver since I posted this. Lovely place. Owner is now lying in his response. Can't and won't fight a liar.
This is the best Chinese cuisine in town! I love it so much, especially the soup dumplings! Staffs are friendly and of course the food is delicious
I have to start by saying wow. Me and my boyfriend were craving some Dim sum and what a relief that the experience has not been discouraging.
From the service to the taste, everything was incredible. One of the best Chinese food restaurants in Weschester. The place is very clean, good music, and also you can have a live experience of how the dumplings are prepared. We will definitely be back!
Food is very good here. But the service is slow and the atmosphere is bare bones.
Dishes we ordered:
Pineapple fried rice
Crab and pork soup dumplings
Kung pao chicken
Shredded beef with chili peppers
Chinese broccoli
Came here twice and both times the food was great. Again, service is slow but the food came out quick.
We used to order from here consistently for two years. Quality of food has gone down. Yesterday - they delivered Singapore noodles- there was a clump of curry power in the middle, not mixed. The kung pao tofu had no sauce, no peanuts, just fried pieces of tofu with unseasoned broccoli.
When we called to complain, we were she said "ok we will do better next time. " We said to at least look up our order number so they would know what went wrong. She put the phone on speaker without realizing it wasn't on mute and then said "these guys are calling to complain" and her coworker goes "just hang up on them"
We used to recommend this place as the go to Chinese spot in this area. Will never recommend again.
