Restaurant Mister French reviews
14 Oh my goodness, let me tell you about my absolutely divine experience at Mister French! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was swept away by the incredible ambiance and the warm and celebratory energy of the staff. It felt as though we were the only party in the entire restaurant, despite the bustling crowd that surrounded us all evening.
Speaking of the staff, I must say that they were simply exceptional! Our server, Abash (or something close to that - the noise level in the restaurant made it a bit difficult to catch his name), was an absolute delight. He was attentive, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had an unforgettable evening.
What really sets Mister French apart from other restaurants, though, is the overwhelming sense of joy and hospitality that emanates from the entire staff. They truly made us feel welcomed and appreciated, and even brought out a complimentary glass of champagne for us to toast the birthday girl!
Now, let me tell you about the decor - it was absolutely breathtaking. The interior of the restaurant was so stunningly beautiful that we couldn't help but stay later to take pictures in front of the flower backdrop and around the piano. It was the perfect setting for a romantic date or a special occasion with friends.
If I had to nitpick, I would say that the noise level in the restaurant was a bit high at times, which made it a bit difficult to hear each other and our servers. However, the overall experience was so exceptional that it was a minor inconvenience at best.
In short, I cannot recommend Mister French enough! I would tell all of my friends and colleagues that this is the perfect spot for a special occasion or a date night (although perhaps not for a first date!). The staff and ambiance are simply unmatched, and the decor is truly breathtaking. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation today - you won't regret it!
Mister French stands for ambiance, attentiveness, great music and vibe. Definitely a NEW YORK GEM
Everything about our experience was wonderful. Great cocktails, food, atmosphere, and best of all - service. We brought our 3 year old for an early dinner, and they treated him as well as they would anyone else (if not better).
My honest opinion of mister french is that it’s average at best. For the prices they charge, the meal should be exquisite. Cocktails were nice but at $20 a pop, you expect so.a $29 burger should come as requested, medium rare, burger was over cooked. The lobster thermidor tasted like propane/butane, which means an amateur was in the kitchen and not experienced at all with using a kitchen torch. If you consider yourself someone with discerning taste, do yourself a favor and avoid mister french, after all, this is new york city and there are plenty of restaurants that provide meals and experiences worth every penny.
Ambience is incredible, sexy but not intimidating. Music was perfectly curated, and volume was just right for conversations. Cocktails are a definite highlight, but they also have extensive wine options. Loved the salmon crispy rice, scallops, oysters with caviar, 11/10 crème brûlée in a time where most is mediocre at best. Service did not miss, friendly and helpful without hovering. Don’t miss this spot! It’s a real gem
I had a very nice dinner here tonight. Everything was crisply delivered and delicious. I will certainly return.
And just to put my foot down a bit, it’s just so classy! From the moment you enter you know that you’re well cared for and that you and your date are off to an amazing experience.
This place was a pleasant surprise. Every cocktail I tried was phenomenal; ordered the salmon crispy rice and halibut, divine. But what really stood out for me was the Nutella crème brûlée? Menu is seasonally-based so get it while you can!
It’s all so chic and delish from the moment you enter. Anyone who thinks you can get Manhattan in Miami hasn’t been here.
5 stars for service and 3.5 for food but dessert menu definitely a 5. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was amazing.
Food was delicious but felt like this place still can’t decide what it wants to be - a club, a restaurant or a bar. Won’t be visiting it again.
Everything here exceeded my expectations. The inside is beautiful, the cocktails were all unique and delicious, the food was amazing, and all of the staff members were friendly and made the experience even better. Will be back to try more of the menu!
Incredible food in a gorgeous setting. I had the halibut with Meyer lemon cream sauce and my friend had the salmon with brown butter sauce and both were outstanding. Nutella creme brulee for dessert. This was a memorable evening. Highly recommend.
I'm sorry to say that this was one of the worst meal experiences I've had in NY in years. It was bad almost across the board:
Service - for most of the evening, the waitstaff hovered relentlessly, to the point of constantly interrupting our conversation. Every two minutes someone was offering to take away uneaten food (we had to tell them 5x we still wanted to finish our bread), refill water, ask if we wanted more wine, clean up crumbs, and so on. But then, when our entrees were actually ready, my father's entre was brought out.and mine was nowhere to be seen. All of a sudden, we couldn't find a waiter. At least 5-7 minutes passed, then more. Finally, a busboy helped out and went and got my steak and brought it out. Our main waiter finally came over and apologized, but provided no explanation and offered no discount. The busboy later explained that the steak had been overcooked, so they weren't sure what to do - so they just brought out my dad's dish and left mind to sit there? Which brings me to the food.
Food - mediocre, at best. As mentioned above, the steak was overcooked. It was also bland. My dad's salmon was similarly bland, and he did not like the butter sauce. Our crispy rice salmon appetizers were just ok. This all might have been acceptable at a cheaper place, but this place is not cheap, at all.
Ambience - I think this place gets cooler as the night goes on, but on a Friday evening around dinner time it was completely dead. We were almost the only people in the restaurant, which made it all the more perplexing that the service was so bad.
I would most definitely never return. And apparently the word is out, which is why it was so easy to get a reservation.
My wife and I had an incredible dining experience here. The balance of food quality and service was impeccable. Staff was attentive but not overbearing. Sauces that accompanied the entrees (scallops and halibut) were exceptional. We will be back with friends. Hats off to Joe and Lucas who made it all happen!
