Modern Snack Bar, Aquebogue NY

Heard the soft shell crabs were the best and boy they didn't disappoint. Was also told people order their turnip's for Thanksgiving and I found out why. Combine that with friendly service and great deserts and you'll go home very satisfied.

A nice surprise, finally stopped in for lunch and found it to be GREAT! ! Tasty lobster bisk fantastic Ruibin sandwich and topped it off with a delicious piece of apple crumb pie!

Step back in time but not in a Twilight Zone way. Excellent friendly service and tasty comfort food. Daily specials that actually are special. The lobster bisque is delicious. Get the lemon meringue pie. It’s a legend.

Disappointing! Quality of food was terrible. Burnt fried onion rings, flounder filet sandwich…. What a joke the flounder was paper thin never tasted the fish only the breading…surrounded by huge pieces of lettuce and tomato and a giant bun. Crab cakes over fried and burnt. Hamburgers mushy …. This was one of our favorite places…. Prices up quality way down.
Waitress staff was wonderful and accommodating as always. Sadly we
won’t be back…

Been coming here every Fall for years. The owner n staff are always there to greet you and make you feel like family. It's home style cooking here, consistent for years.

You can't go wrong with anything on their menu! Fresh, delicious home cooking. The hot open turkey, the Reubens, the burgers, the sauerbraten.omg everything is awesome! Oh and the soups! Mmmm!
Save room for dessert or get something to go. Pie! Wish I lived closer, I would be there every week instead of just a few times a year!

This place never ever disappoints. The food is always fresh homemade and delicious. Reminds me of when I was young and my Mom took me to luncheonettes ️

Food is always top notch, from appetizers to dessert. Their homemade pies are terrific. The staff is friendly and helpful and my takeout order is always correct. The Modern Snack Bar is a gem.

We found the portions are a lot smaller for the price. And the plates they use are not dinner plates more of a lunch plate. The prices are way too high for the amount of food that you're going to get. I know prices have gone up all over but portions they serve got a lot smaller not worth it. Not a happy customer at all.

Quaint Northfork eatery! Great food and service. Family owned for over 70 years! I have gone here since I was a toddler to now! Over 60 yrs! And John makes a great Peach Mohito!

Very disappointing experience. Party of three of us went for dinner and none of us liked the food. Our guest ordered fried shrimp and could not eat it, the taste was weird. Ordered a different dish to replace it, which was OK. We were charged for both dishes. I ordered the prime rib. It was tough and somewhat tasteless, the worst prime rib I ever had. Left most of it behind. Our third person was not happy with her Corned beef sandwich either, could not finish it. Never again in this place.

The New England Clam Chowder was excellent, and the Key Lime Oysters are AMAZING! Really everything is delicious.the lobster salad, fried chicken, and the stuffed flounder are definitely winners!

Had a great meal at Modern Snack Bar. It has been a treasure for decades. My late grandparents loved it there

Food is excellent and people are so friendly. Like walking back in time. Please don’t ever change!
