Sushi Restaurant MOGMOG reviews
20 Believe or not, you can get the best sashimi quality in NYC area.
Everything they have is exceptional and authentic for Japanese.
Worth exploring.
We came from Princeton NJ just for this place
Very fresh restaurant quality sushi fish available. The lunch options are delicious and include sushi as well as bento boxes, rice balls, bowls, sandwiches and dessert. Grocery selection is great considering the store is pretty small. Nice selection of artisanal sauces available.
My new favorite spot. They have really great foods to try and lots of variety items. The customer service here is wonderful and the staff is so welcoming. High quality fish for an affordable price and even some more expensive big ticket items I’m really tempted to try! I love that they have little notes and information about the history of many of their items so you can really learn a lot about Japanese culture and history just from this little store. They are extra kind to the little ones too which is greatly appreciated by parents. I’ve been trying all the sushi places in NYC but this so far is my favorite. Fancy Restaurant quality
Just moved here a couple of days ago and stumbled upon this cute market. The fresh fish is excellent quality and reasonably priced. So excited to have this in my neighborhood so I can try more of their products!
Being in this cute + neat store is weirdly calming! So many beautiful things to look at. Staff are also really nice.
Prices are consistent with a small specialty store.
The kitchen where they prepare the ready-to-eat items is in the back, and although it’s closed off, from a quick glance through the window it looked clean and well-maintained.
Honestly can’t wait to find an excuse to go back!
I got the mini Chirashi bowl and Spicy Tuna roll. The Chirashi bowl looked super pretty, but flavor wise wasn’t amazing and pricey for $26. The fish isn’t even full slices, but cut up pieces instead. Not sure if I’d go back…
What a great selection! And the staff is so friendly. It’s in a weird location - seems to be in a residential block. We bought kaisen-don, salmon Ikura don, mentaiko, a box of Hokkaido uni, instant ramen noodles, bento boxes, and more! Also, they have pre-made sets for shabu shabu that you can purchase- vegetable and mushroom pack as well as meat packs. Will definitely need to go back to buy those sometime!
Restaurant quality sushi. I highly recommend you call a week in advance and pre-order the fatty tuna cuts. Great prices per pound. Great service. Had a great experience.
My favorite shop in LIC. Great mix of high end products with more affordable alternatives. Amazingly fresh fish and tasty pre-made food too.
This place is something else. Sushi grade fish. Beautiful prepared food. Giant hunks of fish if you're interested. Delicious baked goods.
The chirashi bowl I had today was delightful. Among the best things I ate in quite some time.
Small, authentic, local Japanese shop with high quality salmon, tuna, and other seafood! They also have fresh bread, takeout sushi rolls and rice bowls, and shaved snow. I love getting their tofu bread, sushi grade salmon, and fresh wasabi.
Discovered MOGMOG a few weeks ago, and am lamenting the lost time I didn't know it was there! Extraordinary quality, beautiful selection. Thanks for coming to my neighborhood.
Cute little Japanese grocery store. They sell sushi, Japanese snacks, some sauces and meat.
Cute little Japanese mart that sells hard to find quality (and expensive) Japanese products including fruits (melons and strawberries) wagyu, and sashimi grade fish. There was a huge slab of tuna! They also have prepackaged food for sale such as onigiris and sashimi bowls. I had a salmon onigiri and it was better than expected! It was fresh and both the rice and fish was flavorful. The sashimi bowl was also high quality and very tasty! The food are decently priced for the quality. I would skip the packaged cheesecake though. It was more like a regular flour cake and barely contains any cheese. There are two small cafe tables outside. Would definitely come here again!
One of the best Japanese grocery stores in NYC - Authentic food, daily bentos, etc. My favorite store in the neighborhood.
Cute little shop with a nice variety. Got some onigiri and eel avocado sushi: wasn't a huge fan of the sushi, but onigiri was good. Will be back if I'm in the area.
A great variety of bento box, chirashi bowls, sweets and finger food. The price is reasonable given the high quality of the ingredients.
I spent a lot of my life in Japan and I can’t believe a Japanese market and store like mog mog exists in the states. Everything is the highest quality and best sourced. Truly the most amazing Japanese food and items!
This place is definitely beyond my expectation. This is the sushi restaurant grade for sure. Not only sushi but all the product line-up here is very well thought out. Also, the staffs are super polite and friendly. We’ll definitely go back!
