Brunch Restaurant Mojo reviews
19Not impressed. Service was poor. I went with a friend who was excited to take me & she said it was better when she last went. Maybe a bad night.
We went there on January 3,2024 to celebrate my granddaughter's 18th birthday. The server was not welcoming, failed to introduce herself and took our order, as though it was a burden to her. We were served sink water; with no ice. This prompted us to order sparking water, 3 bottles at a considerable cost. The food was also disapointing. I ordered the calimari which was soaked in grease and very, very soggy, no cruch. We brought aling our own birthday cake; in which they added a $21.00 charge to store it in the fridge and orovid a soarkler. When we were leaving the resturant the hostess did not even wish us a goodnight, thank us for coming or even bother to welcome us back. I found this resturant to have very unprofessional staff, poor quality food and do not recommend this resturant. Our tab was nearly $400.00, which could have been better spent elesware!
I usually tip 25% for good service, but auto-gratuity irks me, as it strays away from the spirit of tipping and leads to entitled wait staff with poor and un-attentive service. Also, auto-gratuity wasn’t disclosed upfront or anywhere on the menu. Food is underwhelming. Won’t be returning.
The tacos were small as can be and the hot sauce tasted like franks red hot sauce. The calamari and s'mores martini were the highlight of the meal.
My family and I had New years eve dinner here and it was such a beautiful time. Our waitress was amazing! I'm sorry I forgot her name: (
Absolutely amazing! I found this place by just walking by and from the outside it looks ok but once you're inside its an absolutely beautiful spot, hidden gem even. Food was like a party and poetry all in one experience. This is definitely a spot to visit often, loved it there
The catering was phenomenal, very fresh and on time my New Year’s Eve party ended up very successful. Thank you Mojo for all of the accommodations.
This is my second time going to Mojo. So far, It's been great.don't have any negative comments about this place. The waiting time was a tiny bit long, but in my opinion this is kinda good. Because more people are eating here, which means the food is great. We waited by the bar before we got seated. My wife ordered "sex by the beach" which she said it was delicious. I forgot which drink my daughter got. I just got a cold beer. When we got our table we ordered, appetizers. The guac & chips was good. The ceviche "down the hatch" was awesome. My wife had "Ropa vieja" and my daughter I had the "chicken mojo" which we both loved. We went home with happy bellies
Stephanie is da BEST! Great experience
Edit: Dec 20123
Dishonest, including tip on bill for a party of 2 guests, when clearly stated on all menus too is added for parties of 3 and more.
Food was edible, but nothing special. The empanadas were not flavorful I had the veggie. The rice and chicken was good, but it needed something else flavor it up. It was average. I’m sure there are other foods that might be more delicious. Give it a try. This is just my experience.
So it’s not a bad place at all it’s just the serving size portions it’s a bit off compared to what you pay. Shrimp tacos are miniature I get anything esle
We made a reservation for three people but was seated near the front door. Every time the front door opened cold air swept in. There was a table upstairs set for four available but the owner/manager wanted to squeeze a fifth person at that table. The owner’s solution to turn the heat up didn’t help when cold air swept in every time the front door opened. That “warm table” table far away from the front door set for four remained unoccupied for our entire meal. The owners response ‘“ don’t tell me about the logistics of running a restaurant” was both arrogant and mean spirited. We couldn’t wait to leave and had coffee and dessert elsewhere. Trying to squeeze one more person at a table set four for at the expense of freezing a senior couple with a reservation is a terrible way to run a restaurant. We will never return Food good certainly not great and certainly not worth being uncomfortably cold for our meal.
Mojo has become the darling of Forest Hills. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. A must visit if you’re ever in the Forest Hills area.
Food was good, and the service was ok. But this place is way too crowded on the weekends, the owner wants to get the money back from COVID and puts way too many tables. People literally walking around my table.
Also, they charge 18% tips for a party of 2 and still ask for tips. The owner really wants the money from customers.
Overall not so good experience, although the food was good.
I went last night with my husband 12/10/23. We sat at the bar to have a drink and the bartender was rude and did not serve us well. He would not return to this restaurant again. They need to hire people who treat customers well.
Today we waited and waited after our appetizers for service and she never came I had to go downstairs to look for her as no one was available at the second floor. It was very disappointing as we always come here and order out as well. We asked for the bill and left to another restaurant as we saw there was no interest in keeping our business
Stephanie was my waitress this afternoon, the restaurant is ideal for children, the squid was on point and all the food in general is super fresh! You have to try La passion Mula! She's fabulous, ask about her.
Today I went back to the restaurant and tried the churros pancakes. I recommend them. We had the same waitress, Stephanie S, and she was always attentive at the table.
I will be back
The staff at Mojo were so welcoming and accommodating to my dog. They set up a private area so my dog would be comfortable and the whole staff came to greet my dog. The food was excellent, we tried the "mama arepas" which were yummy. Also, their cocktails with mezcal hit the spot. Definitely coming here again, especially from the cocktails.
Place was really nice but the beans were really disgusting. It tasted like beans straight out of the can. Had no flavor at all. The churrasco that was advertised is actually an entrana, didn’t type of meat.
