Korean Restaurant Mokbar reviews
17I ate and tried many fried chicken. But Mokbar’s friend chicken is underated! Everyone must taste it Amazing!
Difficult to recommend, the taco place right across as made the whole experience quite bad. Food was okish but there seam to be better options in the food hall… It’s apparently take out only
They food did not taste good. Hoecake is very greasy, broth for the ramen was served cold. And everything seemed to have the same flavor. It seems that “kimchi” paste is the base for everything. I couldn’t even finish my meal!
Very delicious! My only issue is that the stock is not hot enough to warm the ingredients, but i was really surprised with the good taste and the quality of the ingredients.
Ummm please someone tell me where did this place go? ! Did it move to somewhere else in Maryland?
Absolutely incredible food:) i got the spicy tuna poke bowl & my boyfriend got the mild chicken wings.amazing!
Dunno what seems to be everyone’s gripe about this place. Yes, the seating is non-existent inside, however you can stand and eat on the counter area or there are tables outside. I love their kimchi ramen. Pro tip: add tofu and spam, and sub with rice. It’ll feel like you’re eating kimchi jjigae (Korean kimchi stew).
My friend and I ordered lunch from Mokbar today and it was amazing! I tried the classic ramen, spicy ramen and bulgogi bowl. Everything was so tasty and cooked to perfection. I will be returning when visiting Ny.
Best service in the city hands down! The lady who took my order was so patient and calm and the food was incredible.
My meal was tasty and filling. And fresh. The only problem I have with it is that I found a metal string (maybe from a cleaning scrub) in it.
Maybe being a bit more careful with cleaning and cooking instruments.
The tipping experience was weird since they bothered to ask for tip without bothing to tell me there's no seating at first. In fact, they didn't tell me anything. Just silence, then while I waited for my order I would realize I selected the "15% tip" button at their point-of-sale terminal for no service. In fact, when I picked up my order I found out that I was so generous that I also gave NYC Tax 8.875% a 15% tip as well, so effectively bumping my tip for no service up to 16.3% of the total. Gotta think about supporting the lilvelyhood of NYC Tax as well. Apparently it's being paid below a liveable wage, who knew. I didn't, even though I tipped Mr. Tax. Also the restaurant can't really play innocent because they've been at this for over a decade at this point.
No seating at least resolves the previous issue I encountered years ago when I came to the horrific realization that the water carafes were all filthy around the neck with bio growth from all the sunshine received at the window-facing seating.
For the chicken option, the broth was nice and thick, noodle you need a little wiggle to untangle. The meat was barely existant. Maybe like a quarter of a wing if I'm being generous. Well, I am generous apparently. Part of me is holding on to the nostalgia of my first mokbar experience about a decade ago, before I noticed the bio growth on the carafes, and all my friends had mediocre opinions of this place. So, I don't dislike their food. One positive is that much shorter line and faster service than Very Fresh Noodles. It seems like they worked really hard to earn my rating for them.
Great food. Ordered for the office and it was ready when I got there. We will definitely be back. Nothing like a Chicken Ramen on a cold day!
Quick service, Friendly employees and tasty food. The employees really work hard to keep the line moving and keep the service great! Saw the Chef on TV and the food does not disappoint!
I had a great experience my favorite is the kimchi ramen sub rice. It's just amazing. And the pork dumplings. All the appetizers are really good. There is no seating but you can eat over the counter. And they are located on a market so is plenty of seating outside and around the market. My food came out fast
I LOVE THE FOOD super flavorful and authentic I'm vegetarian and the cashier was very helpful in explaining the menu when I asked for the Brussels sprouts they asked if I was vegan or vegetarian because the Brussels sprouts have sour cream, they were very friendly and accommodating to my diet. The food was really good super quick and very clean spot. Will be Coming back again:)
Tasty but I had Chicken Biminap and it was a rather small amount of chicken and vegetables for the price of almost 20 bucks…. Very generous with the hot sauce though- see pic.
Bibimbap is not terrible there, but my portion came lukewarm and the vegetables were less than fresh.
