Momosan NYC reviews
3Excellent food at a very high level! And a good atmosphere too. Reasonable prices
My coworker suggested an impromptu early dinner on a Friday evening around 5: 30 pm, and the eight of us decided to try our luck at Momosan without a reservation. Fortunately, we were able to secure a long communal table at the back that comfortably accommodated our group.
I absolutely adore the ambiance of this place; it offers an unobstructed view from the front door to the back of the restaurant, creating a sense of openness.
Momosan's menu is concise, with food items featured at the front and drinks listed at the back. Most of my coworkers opted for the $25 Momosan dinner set, which includes Ramen and a choice of appetizer.
Personally, I went for their Chashu bap, a rice dish featuring sliced pork belly, pickled vegetables, and a seared egg yolk, all served in a hot stone bowl right at the table.
The presentation was impressive, and the staff's preparation in front of me added to the experience. The dish was not only visually appealing but also packed with flavor and served in a generous portion.
I must highlight the kakuni bao, with its succulent braised pork belly, and the soft shell crab bao appetizers. Although I found the crab option a bit pricey for its value, both were undeniably delicious.
Our overall dining experience at Momosan was excellent. The staff was friendly, efficient, and provided exceptional customer service. I highly recommend this place for a satisfying meal.
I have dined here twice for lunch with my partner. A little pricey but totally worth it. The food is absolutely delicious. The only negative - on my second trip for lunch I ordered the same salmon rolls I had on my first visit (so good), and was told sorry we don't make that for lunch. Well I pressed them on this because not only did I have them for lunch the first time, but it is written right there on their lunch menu. To be fair I could have ordered something else, but IMO if you have not sold out of it, and have it on the lunch menus, you should provide that to your customers. Sure enough they made the rolls for me, so I'm not quite sure what the issue was. It was off putting to say the least. Other than that it was a good experience.
