Monro Auto Service and Tire Centers reviews
15Made an appointment for an oil change. Showed up 10 min early for said appointment. They didn’t even take my car up for over an hour. Then took 30 min for the oil change. I was there for over 2 hours and even purchased new wiper blades. They didn’t even put them on correctly and I had to go back. This was almost a 3 hour ordeal for an oil change that was a scheduled appointment. The guy didn’t even apologize.
I dont review places. Felt the need to here. We have been using them for years. Last 12 months have been awful. Four hours for an oil change while waiting? Thats with an oil change appointment. Online appointments are a joke. You can schedule one, but they will call and cancel. Set up an appointment to bring car in for align and oil change on Sat. Did not receive call on Sat at all. When I called them on Sun, cant do alignment. Why did a make an appointment for one? How come nobody called? Service used to be good. Is now trash. Go somewhere else.
I had an issue with my tire valve and they were able to get me almost immediately with a little bit of a wait. They fixed my valve, changed the spare back to the original tire, filled it with air and put the spare back in my trunk and even put my hubcap back on for me! I’ll absolutely be back for any other issues that may arise, along with coming back for my next oil change. Thank you guys so much!
4 yrs and this Monto gone downhill.
New Manager seems likes to sell expensive repairs that aren't needed. I guess back to dealership.
This was 4 yrs ago.
Friendly staff. They know how to get the job done efficiently, on time, and don't try to gouge you on price. Highly recommended. Better than a dealership.
I couldn’t be happier with our service, oil change and new tires. Kevin and staff Great work and friendly. Thank you Merry Christmas!
Had my car inspected last year at this shop, which passed but they insisted my rear shocks were leaking and needed to be replaced by them. I refused and planned to address it if ever became a problem. Fast forward to this years inspection, the same "leaking" shocks on the car are now fine (I specifically asked about them when picking up the vehicle). Are there magical gnomes fixing my car in the night without me knowing? Maybe, but more likely this Monro Muffler is scamming people.
Terrible place. They tried to tell me I needed brakes when I lubed the slider pins and fixed them. They use garbage parts so I had to go back in less than 2 years to have exhaust components replaced. They blamed it on the salt ny state uses.
I had let my tires wear down till the last minute before leaving for a trip, and the last bit of rubber before they became go kart slicks. The staff found me a great deal in 4 new tires and had me back on the road in time for my trip. Thanks to all the staff at the Chili location, you all are great.
Kevin at the Chili store was great to work with. His whole staff did a great job. Thank you
I’ve been using the Chili Ave Monro location for two years and it suffers from poor management.
- Employees don’t stay so they are not properly staffed
- The work that they do is late or not done until the following day which is very inconvenient
- I’ve heard workers bicker about management, being overworked, the app and appointment schedule
Kevin appears to be the problem and is the manager or an co-manager. Either get him the support and training to run this shop well or others will have the experience I’ve had over and over.
I’m taking my business elsewhere so I don’t have the babysit adults to make sure they are doing work so I get my vehicle back.
Don't come here. Total waste of time. On Monday, in person, I booked an appointment for an inspection for the following Thursday. I came back on Thursday ten minutes early, and they said they weren't able to do it (at all) because they screwed up their bookings and apparently put three more people ahead of me. I offered to wait, but the single employee doing inspections was leaving within the hour. No explanation. Totally unreliable and unprofessional.
Edit: look at this awful non-response they added. Shows you how much they care.
This team is genuinely committed to running a quality business, and I truly appreciate that. Kevin was especially helpful when I had a tire puncture; he communicated with me transparently every step of the way. While their online appointment system is not functioning optimally, a simple phone call will suffice to secure an appointment. This might be due to their being part of a chain of 1,300 mechanic shops across the United States, which likely brings its own set of complexities, such as the online appointment portal.
Aside from that minor hiccup, they're fantastic. They even offered me a discount because I had to wait a bit for my state inspection. As someone with a background in computer science and operations, I'd be more than happy to assist in improving the appointment process if needed!
Had an appointment at 1: 30 for an oil change, went back at FIVE pm and they still hadn’t started me car. Took my car and went down the road to Mavis, they had my car in the air and finished by 5: 42pm. Save your time and money
Scheduled state inspection for 12pm online. Received two confirmation emails one for 12 and one for 1. Didn't think anything of it. Went in and was told there was no 12pm appointment, despite having the email to prove it. I was told that the online appointment system "doesn't know what's actually going on in the shop" aka is pointless, and that "It's Tuesday and we only have one inspector on duty today and he's working on another car" (again, despite me having scheduled an appointment that was shown to be available a week earlier). I was told that I would have to wait an hour and then that the inspection would take another hour. I only had my lunch hour to do this, so that wasn't going to work. Now, obviously the reason that a 20 minute inspection is going to take an hour is so they can go over the car with a find toothed comb in order to find as much wrong as possible so they can't pass the inspection and force you to pay for additional work. Would not recommend. Avoid and find a local mechanic you can trust.
Even though I had the wait longer than I thought, the cost for my work being done was cheaper than quoted online.
