Montauk Lighthouse

I wish i could go one day but ill rate it 5 stars bc i know its an amazing sight with such crisp air

We have visited the Lighthouse multiple times. During our previous trip we visited the museum to learn about its history. This trip, we went to enjoy the views. Unobstructed ocean views from the most eastern point of New York State are just awesome!

It is open 24h but there is a gate that closes at the same time as the museum so you can't even walk close to it.
Still beautiful.

Beach is so stunning and beautiful. I fall in love with all sand, rocks, air and all nature. You can take path around the light house without entering into the lighthouse museum. The walkway is pretty easy and has sign to show which way to go.

We had a wonderful time at the Montauk Lighthouse.historic site.to get to the top.we had to climb a very narrow staircase.only one person at a time on the last stretch.enjoy the details.it's the best

Such a beautiful and breathtaking place to come visit. The air is so nice and refreshing, Definitely worth the ride from the city. Even if it was about 3+ hrs due to so much traffic coming into Montauk, it was definitely a nice and very enjoyable ride with lots to see.

Must Pay to park and walk to lighthouse. No other option but to pay money to see something built freely. A rip-off at its best. Just drive by & keep going, there’s nothing more to see

Montauk Lighthouse is the easternmost point of Long Island, New York. It was built in 1796. At that time, Montauk Lighthouse became the first lighthouse in New York State and the fourth in all of America. Today, this lighthouse is one of the most popular tourist destinations, especially in the summer. Organization of payment and parking is very convenient and does not take much time. You will be able to enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean, see seals if you are lucky, the walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse is not very long, if you want to get to the lighthouse you will have to pay separately, it is $10 and it will include not only the lighthouse, but also the entrance to the museum. In museums you can learn more about this lighthouse, see photos, layouts. When I was there, I could not get to the top of the lighthouse, there was a strong wind and it was closed. But even without this, you can enjoy beautiful views.

The lighthouse is situated on a perfect spot with great views all around. Having a blue sky day didn't hurt either, The lighthouse building house a great museum just filled with interesting things and photographs- it is well curated. Going up in the lighthouse is an adventure. 137 spiral staircase steps (narrow) that you climb holding a rope on the left. When you get to the top, you can (only 1 person) step out on a small balcony for a bird's eye view of the area that will take your breath away. I highly recommend going to the top if you can do the stairs. The history of the lighthouse is also fascinating- take the time to enjoy the museum. Very nice gift store as well.

A beautiful lighthouse with a extremely interesting history. I definitely recommend you all to check out the museum there.be warned though, if you have young children, there are active foghorns if the conditions start to get foggy
