While moving is a trying experience anytime, Lemkau made it as pleasant and effective as possible. The office staff is professional and skip the hard sell. Rates are reasonable and one can choose a fixed price. On moving day, everything went smoothly: the men were organized and effi isn't and on a personal note very considerate: Seeing I had trouble standing, the last out was my winged chair and the first item into my new home-you guessed it!

Yesterday, I had written a negative review for this moving company … HOWEVER, after receiving a personal call today from the company explaining a rate unfortunate set of circumstances that had occurred within the company during our interstate move, I’d like to change my review … the unusual circumstances apparently created a “perfect storm” for them causing their usual mode of doing business to become inoperative and resulted in the breach of communication with us and the confusion surrounding the arrival of the moving trucks to our new home…in reference to the damaged bookcase and chandelier issues they offered acceptable compensation and a truly sincere apology for those issues…I'm grateful to them that my review was important enough for them to reach out to me and offer an apology and fair compensation for the difficulties that had occurred…because of their actions today, I’ve changed my review to a positive one and feel comfortable recommending them as a moving company on Long Island, NY…

Very punctual, friendly, professional and great communication with us! They clarified what we wanted all along the way and we’re very meticulous and caring of our things. They were prepared with lots of supplies to make the move easier and they worked so hard all day!

Best moving company we’ve ever used. This is the team you want to help you move during what is, let’s face it, an extremely stressful time. From start to finish, their team was responsive and respectful. These were seasoned movers who think of everything for you. We didn’t have to lift a finger. I can't say enough how much my wife and I were pleased with the moving services provided by Lemkau Moving and Storage. We used them twice in the past two years moving from our home to a condo and then to Florida. Each move went like clockwork including packing of china, crystal and art.twice! We had no damages and all the men were asking if there was anything else they could do.

We have used Lemkau for several successful moves but the latest was disappointing. Our TVs were only packed with paper and one broke. They said the insurance didn’t cover it because they only delivered it to a storage family. They also wrapped an antique Edison phonograph in paper and it got demolished. We should not have to watch how they pack everything and they should own the breakages. This latest experience leaves me with little confidence in Lemkau.

I have used Morton Lemkau Moving for decades. My mother even used them. I knew the original owner Mr. Lemkau! Mr. Lemkau was a TRUE professional and an amazing human being. My husband and I used them again for our move in July 2023. I NEVER had an issue with their services until now. I even recommended them to a friend of mine when she was moving a few years ago. With this most recent move, I noticed that 2 glass tops were scratched and they put the mirror back on the triple dresser without using the felt buffer piece, which I found underneath the dresser after they left. I contacted Don at Lemkau and made him aware of the issues and even sent him pictures of the glass tops as he requested. I never heard back from him. That being said, I would NEVER recommend this moving company to anyone and if I ever had to move again, I would use another company. The new owners don't deserve to be using Mr. Lemkau's name. They are doing his name an injustice.

The experience which can be stressful, was anything but.

It was great! All of the guys are amazing, hard working, polite and efficient. Alex and don were helpful from beginning to end, always in constant contact with me from the time of the estimate to the unload of the house.

Our moving was the easiest part of getting into our new apartment-with thanks to Lemkau! Reaching out to the moving coordinator was a breeze, and they also provided helpful moving resources and recommendations for furniture. We had three movers arrive day off, all of them were professional, courteous and careful with our furniture and belongings. The guys had a wonderful attitude even though our move happened on a rainy day, and made sure that our belongings were protected from the elements. I will absolutely recommend Lemkau to anyone in the process of moving, and will plan to use them in the future as well! Thank you:)

Had an excellent experience yesterday with my move from NY to NJ. The good experience began with the initial inquiry a few weeks ago until they left yesterday. Overall, very thorough, professional, friendly and efficient. Didn’t break any of my furniture or make a mess in my old/new place which was greatly appreciated. Also, they sent three men (Chris, Mike, Carlos) who worked well as a team and got the job done much faster than had it been two - which was what other competitors were offering for the same price. Highly recommend.

A crew of four professional movers came and helped us move from our apartment to our new house. They took down our bed and baby crib and rebuilt them at the house as well as wrapped our belongings so they wouldn’t get damaged. Highly recommend this company!
