Hawaiian Restaurant Mr.Poke reviews
18I tried the spicy salmon bowl and it was a great combo. Was definitely unsure about the pineapple in it, but it really worked well. Everything was really fresh. The only reason they get the 4 star and not 5 is because they put too much rice and not enough protein, other than that everything was perfect.
I ordered a custom bowl, scoop of tuna, scoop of scallops mixed with a bunch of other fresh ingredients, the workers were very welcoming and the restaurant seemed very clean, I definitely would come back and recommend
I don’t know if it’s just me or the protein they give is significantly less than other pokes places. Cutting salmon into tiny pieces isn’t going to make it more. Shaking an already half empty scoop is just funny to watch.
How bad can it get?
They cut sashimi like frozen carrot and not fresh at all. Server keep shaking the spoon as she put stuff on the bowl, seem like they dont want to give it to you. They have problem, lots of it.
A great place, having been here frequently I’ve had nothing but satisfactory results. The food was fresh, I’ve never had issues with their seafood, and their staff are extremely thoughtful. I would say that Mr. Poke is cheaper than other Poke places that I’ve been to, I wish they gave more toppings (not protein) than just rice. While Mr. Poke is nothing like real Poke from Hawaii, so far this is the closet i have gotten to.
Tried Mr. Poke for the first time tonight. Absolutely delicious and definitely recommend! I created my own bowl with Salmon, Shrimp, Ahi Tuna, a variety of veggies and toppings along with their Honey Wasabi and Classic sauce. The fish and veggies were fresh, I loved the sauces, and it's a great portion for the price. I will be back!
New paper bowls are smaller and annoying because the food sticks to them. Otherwise the food is always fresh and filling and the employees are friendly.
Super cool store. The workers were welcoming and friendly. I was just in and out for my food, but my experience over all was super super nice.
The store is in a central location, its clean and nice on the inside. I have no complaints about it, to be quite honest.
I dont understand these poke places that give you a pound of rice and are super cheap with their proteins and toppings. My bowl was filled to the brim with rice and it was like pulling teeth getting more than 4 cubes of salmon on my bowl. And she put three pieces of cucumber for my topping and for all the other toppings it was just as bad, and dont get me started on napkins I asked for extra napkins and this woman looked me in the eye and gave me ONE napkin. I cannot support establishments that are this cheap. This isnt the first time this happend here.
Mr. Poke is a hidden gem in the great neck area! Food always tastes fresh and the employees are always welcoming and personable. It’s about a 20 minute drive from my house but always worth the travel
They are slightly cheaper than other pokè places, the toppings are diverse and I like that they've got the option to add ingredients to give the bowl some texture and crunch. We ordered the land&sea and a build a bowl which comprises of scallops and tuna.
Ingredients are quality and fresh, presentation is beautiful.but I think the portions vs pricing is a little off, my tummy was still hungry after the bowl. Flavour-wise, it lacked pizazz. Personally I think kiss fish in Forrest Hills is a better option.
I've been getting salmon, rice, all the fruit, and honey wasabi sauce for over a year now. Never gets old
Great spot for a quick meal. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. I love the spicy salmon bowl!
This spot is fantastic! Good pricing, large dishes and the employees are constantly very friendly.
Food is fresh and really yummy. Portions are really tiny, much smaller than any Poke restaurant I know.
Really good poke bowl place. Prices are decent at 11 bucks for a basic bowl. Building your own bowl is the best option as you can choose from dozens of ingredients. My only gripe was the day we went, the room was way too hot. Like at least 80 degrees. Ended up having to take our food to go and eat at a nearby park. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Order from here almost weekly and it is consistently fresh, very quickly made. Delicious ahi tuna
Ok. Did not feel the good reception by the tending person. At other poke, I get more for the same money.
