Music with Phoebe, Smithtown NY

Phoebe has a unique nurturing way with our Pre-k daughter. In just a few months she has made significant strides in her piano abilities but more so she teaches her the fundamentals of reading music. We are truly blessed to have her continually ignite the love of music into our little princess in every lesson.

It is simply amazing to witness my children learn the art of music with Ms Phoebe. My oldest one (7) has just lost his piano teacher last year and finding a new teacher that will work with him and our schedule was not easy. Finding Ms. Phoebe has been such a blessing. She is accountable, punctual and teaches my boys in such a caring and loving environment. She explained to us from the beginning cancellation and make up policies so classes are flexible with weather, birthdays, and just life.
We started my 4 year old playing the piano with Ms. Phoebe as well. She gave us her honest opinion with starting my son that young, but was nice enough to give him a chance.

When I started my boys with Mrs Phoebe, I wasn’t expecting such a wonderful teacher. She’s encouraging, patient and has instill in them the love of music. They’re now so comfortable with the piano playing that we started them with violin as well.

It’s so wonderful to wake up to our boys playing music for us. On Fridays, we have a mini concert at home where my boys show my husband the new pieces they have learned during the week. In these times of electronics, it is such a blessing to instill in our children the love of music. I am amazed at their progress and their enthusiasm towards their music lessons:). We couldn’t be happier. Ms. Phoebe is truly great.

Great teacher, I have only been a student for about 3 months and already learned so much, she Phoebe teaches by using the music that you like which makes lessons and learning fun while learning. Would highly recommend to a friend!

It has been a life goal of mine to be able to sing and play piano, and Pheobe made that possible in just a couple months. After just a little over 2 months I had learned the basics of piano and had been able to play my first song on piano and sing at the same time! Pheobe is a true miracle worker and I can’t imagine having any other teacher.

Her teaching method works so well for adult students. After only 6 lessons I was able to play an entire song for my family for Mother’s Day! They were amazed.

My granddaughter at age 4 attended a local music school with the desire to learn the piano. She attended for six months and never sat at a piano. With a recommendation from a friend I contacted Ms. Phoebe. She took my 4 year old, sat her down at the piano and showed her how to play. A year later my granddaughter played in her first recital. She is taught foundation skills, technique, and discipline. She is able to read music! Ms. Phoebe is kind, motivating and has a special gift in working with young children. She has taught my child the love of music. I could not be happier. I am truly grateful for Ms. Phoebe.

Ms. Phoebe is great with my son who started at 6. In just 1 year he is playinng beautifully and able to read music. She is patient and productive with the time she has. My son really enjoys going to lessons, regularly. I am thankful to have her.

Phoebe is an amazing music teacher- we are so happy we were introduced to her. We actually admired one of her students “excellence” and inquired who his teacher was.a few weeks later my daughter was taking Violin lessons with her. It has been an amazing experience for my daughter- she even got to play in a recital for the very first time- all arranged by Phoebe - it was an awesome Recital!

Love, love, love Phoebe! I have 2 kids taking piano with Phoebe. I can see an improvement with my son who has been taking piano for 6 yrs and switched to Phoebe this year. He has grown so much this year not only in his playing but in his connection with the music. We recently attended Phoebe's annual recital and was impressed with the level of the performers and how diverse each student is in terms of style and music genre. Quality work, highly recommend!

Phoebe is a truly great and inspirational music instructor. As an adult, I have never played a musical instrument in my life and I certainly didn’t know how to read and interpret sheet music. I decided that I wanted to learn to play the piano in order to enrich my life. I’ve been taking piano lessons with Phoebe for 8 months now and I can hardly believe the progress she has helped me to achieve. Taking voice lessons with Phoebe Yee has been a very positive and inspiring journey. She went that extra mile to make sure I was prepared for my upcoming vocal performance. She is a dedicated, caring music teacher who has helped me reach my goal of a perfect score of 100, within a few month period to prepare me for my all-state solo adjudication. It has been 10 years since the last time I place my fingers on a piano. Just after 3 lessons with Phoebe, I have learned how to play a song I never thought I could! She makes use of every minute you are working with her. When she plays a piece it makes you want to play more, practice more, and learn everything you can from her style. For anyone at any age interested in tapping back into your music capabilities, Phoebe is your girl!
