Super reliable and always excellent haircuts. Smokey has been doing my skin fades for years now. He is nothing short of amazing and the cuts are always sharp. I can warmly recommend Lani too. Plus: covid safety protocol, hot towels, best vibes, and a bakery downstairs.

I’ve gotten my hair cut here many times. I love it, they really know how to cut curly hair. I’ve gotten cuts by both Lex and Smokey, highly recommend! I also love that they are so good at suggesting a style, a product or routine that will help your hair out. It’s always such a blast, too.

(First things first, the haircut is fantastic!)
I'd heard such great things from a number of people so I decided to get my first haircut in 8 years here. I have very long curly hair and told Lex how nervous I was l, and Lex immediately explained their plan and made sure every little change was okay with me. Lex went out of their way to educate me and teach me all about my hair (something they had clearly studied extensively) and was welcoming, Kind, and rocked every part of this process. I'm so happy about my hair, and am so amazed to see a salon collective doing so well. I don't get haircuts often but am going to recommend this place to everyone!

Great stylists who listen to you and actually give you a great cut. My first curly dry cut and I loved it. I’ve tried a few places in the neighborhood and was disappointed or had bad experiences.

I want to thank Lani from the bottom of my queer heart for helping me get closer to living my truth. I went in SUPER anxious because I’ve had long curls my whole life and I wasn’t sure what to do with them, but Lani was extremely gentle and kind and somehow immediately understood what I needed. Not to mention I have difficult hair and not any hairdresser can handle my complex curls but Lani was excellent. I’m grateful a place like Mutiny exists and thank you so much Lani <3 im happy and comfortable with my hair for the first time:)

I got a haircut by Smokey. He did an awesome job! It was hard for me to find the place at first so if this is your first time going make sure to plan ahead and read the email they send you when you book an appointment, which has a lot of instructions that will make your life and theirs easier. This is a space that is 100% queer community owned!

I had the most amazing experience at Mutiny. Smokey made me feel comfortable immediately, and it was the safest I’ve ever felt when getting a haircut. Smokey was gracious and kind, and was able to fill in the gaps when I wasn’t quite sure of what I wanted. They dedicated time to checking in with me and sharing the mission of Mutiny. And all of this for a fair, affordable price. Thank you, I genuinely can’t wait to come back!

Mutiny is the best. With everything from full service cuts to "pay what you can" services, I love this place. It's a queer safe space in the best way. I followed the staff from their previous workspace, and I am kind of ruined for other salons. Also, the fact that people still mask here, in 2022, is a nice comfort for folks concerned with immunity. It also has lovely neon and pastel decor.

I see Smokey, who is so fun and great at cuts. Smokey treated me to a hot towel recently - my first - and it was glorious. Can't recommend it enough!
