This place is incompetent. I went to ER for tooth ache. I arrived at 1145 am. There was a nurse that was very rude that was directing me on where to go. I got sent to a downstairs location where they do dental work and was asked to put my paperwork under a door but was never advised that I would have to confirm with them once they opened the door.and completely forgot about me for 3 and a half hours. Finally I go up to the door where they were instructing people to enter just so that they can tell me that they were closing at 4 pm. No wonder why this hospital has such a low review count. STAY AWAY

The receptionist and doctor or whoever was in charge didn’t really seem to care whether me or any other patients were being taken care or spoken to for any direction. I was waiting to be seen while having an appointment for two and half hours and still none of seem to acknowledge me or the other patients to be seen. This hospital was the worse facility I have ever been to. I strongly advice people not to come here for whatever reason.if I could give this place a zero star review I would!

Had an accident on May 28,2022 they took me to this hospital. Worst hospital ever. I left like the doctor was rushing me out he gave me two choices and he keeped rushing me to make a decision because he had more patience and when I look back no lie he was on the phone texting laughing and all the sitting down. Is like they treat you and soon they have what they need they want you out. I got out with the pain and went to another hospital.

Worst hospital ever! I was admitted last nights and it’s 2pm rite now. I have been waiting for a doctor to see me since 10-45am! They’re rude and only take care of themselves! You can tell race plays a big part in this. They treat white people better

Worst place ever … Burn Clinic? I really felt like I was in a third world country hospital… and I am saying that because I have been. But we are not in a Third world country - they do the best they can with the resources provided in a third world country and they ARE NICE. But this place? ! In Long Island, New York, USA? In 2023? I am besides myself …this “ “COMPANY” whoever runs it should be subjected to the treatment that “they” make money off of. It’s staggering.what a disaster and an ultimate failure. … you don’t treat your workers or nurses like humans. I am guessing this by the way I heard one of them out in the hallway saying, “YEAH. IT’D BE NICE IF A DOCTOR SHOWED UP” I mean who says that with a packed waiting room? !? What kind of racket and con men are running this place?
WHILE I AM WAITING IN PAIN FOR A 1: 00 Appt.as well as 59 other people waiting for their 1: 00 APPT.the place is filthy, everyone is angry and no one cares … DO NOT WISH THIS THIRD WORLD COUNTRY HOSPITAL ON ANYONE…RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE: . Go to an Urgent Care. They’d give you better treatment. This place needs to be demoed… and torn down.

Zero stars! Disgusted at the type of care given here 9th floor west wing. My mother in law was an aide and they called her to come say her goodbyes to the person she was taking care of.we go up to the room and one employee was getting ready to bag her meanwhile we didn’t know she had already passed and apparently no one else in the front did. Her next question was “ok what are you gonna do because I need to bag her”. I’m still trying to process this horrible experience. This Hospital deserves to be shut down and get retrained in every type of way. No sympathy no help no direction as to what’s next. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. I’m Traumatized I have never experienced something like this. Specially when someone passes away or a loved one passes away. Wow

This hospital needs more attention from the management, the police came to the ER start to talk super loud and plus, we were waiting for more then 1 hour in the hallway. The only answer that we had was, we're too busy. This make people feel desperate.

I've had generally good experiences here, and their eye center is top-notch, but their billing department doesn't seem to know what they're doing. I keep getting billed for things that are clearly covered by my insurance. Also, they outsource their billing, so it is difficult for even the insurance company itself to get issues resolved. Frustrating!

This place isn’t a hospital, it is a morgue. It deserves zero stars. This morgue killed my mom and the amount of suffering she endured was insane. The interns, some fellows, and an attending working on my mom deserve some kind of karma and I hope it comes for them. Unfortunately I can do nothing more than rant and can’t even type up the amount of horribleness that went on due to typing limit. Yelp has a more precise review. I just hope this review helps save someone else’s life. Never set foot into this joke, they call a hospital. Hell if the ambulance brings you here sign out AMA and find a real hospital.

I had a senior citizen family member admitted through the emergency room to NUMC. She was considered a trauma patient, had surgery the following morning, recovered on the 2nd floor intensive care, moved to SPA and then she decided to go to acute rehab on the 5th floor. This hospital is seriously underrated. Everyone from the orthopedic resident to the nursing assistants was enthusiastic, helpful and nice. I spoke to nurses, nursing assistants, housekeeping, dieticians, doctors and everyone provided professional care and timely response to any inquiry I made. I never felt rushed. The overall experience at NUMC surpassed our previous experiences with Northwell and CHS. The patient care was great. Everyday my family member spoke of how great the OT and PT team was. She didn't want to leave them. Of course, there are staffing issues, as there are everywhere but they all did the best they could. I know this review sounds unrealistic but nobody is more surprised than myself by our good experience.

After discharge, weeks later, we returned to the orthopedic clinic for a follow-up, not knowing what to expect, and the experience was just as good. No lie.

I recently went to the NUMC ER and ended up being admitted and having orthopedic surgery. The staff was amazing from check in, ER and floor nurses and the radiologist. Dr. Saleem was my surgeon and he has an amazing bed side manner as did the residents that checked on me.

NUMC as a whole might not be so bad. However from my observation the trauma and surgery, floor eleven, is a complete nightmare. From the disdain of the PCAs to do their jobs to lack of communication amongst the staff, doctors included, it is unimaginable that anyone survives this place.
What's worst is the complete unprofessional demeanor amongst staff, nurses on phones for most of their shift and the complete lack of care for patients as human beings. I get it, everyone is just doing their job, going through the motions, waiting to check out for the day, but this behavior should not be tolerated from a hospital or health care "professionals". I watched as a PCA pencil whipped her hourly checks at the end of her shift without ever saying a word to her patient who was immobile.
If floor eleven is any indicator of the overall character of NUMC, professional does not apply. You are better off at a urgent care, a veterinary clinic, a mid wife, a voodoo healer or even just dealing with it yourself.

I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to deliver a baby here the experience and how they treat you is traumatic. I decided to do a home water birth after the experience I had here with my first child that’s how traumatic it was it’s especially disgusting how much they try to force you to give baby formula and vaccines and if you don’t comply threaten you with putting your baby in Nicu. They said to me the Child is property of New York State. These people should be locked up.

I am still beside myself with the staff’s attitude towards patients. I’m a handicapped senior who went with Covid and chest pains. A security officer at the entrance was the only person who seemed to care. He saw I was in distress, got me a wheel chair and handled all the checking in for me. I wish I had his name. He gets five stars. The rest of the hospital employees from the doctors to janitors get one star. I have never been in a medical facility with such cold, unfriendly, uncaring people. It was an hour before I got any attention for My chest pains. I was in the emergency room for seven hours. I wasn't given a pillow or something to cover myself with. Nothing! I’ve had heart issues for years, and it didn’t matter. I will NEVER go back. Unfortunately my primary care physician is affiliated with this hospital. She needs to find another hospital to Affiliate herself with. SAD! SO SAD!
