National is always a rental company that I can rely on. I was able to rent a great SUV (Volkswagen Atlas) that made me feel safe.

First time with National. By far the best experience renting a vehicle in NYC airports.
First, the offsite location in LGA is more convenient than on site rental locations. Small tip - don't waste your time waiting for shuttle if you come from/to terminal B. Just walk. It's 10 minutes away and saves lots of time and hassle. Second, the Team here is just great. Fast, friendly and professional. I was in and out in 10 minutes.
Third, car was clean. Like really clean. You don't expect much in terms of sanitation renting a car at the airport. But it was clean indeed.
Overall - not the cheapest option in LGA, but the service, convenience and everything else is well worth the money. Keep up the good work!

Recently rented 2X from LaGuardia airport.
Pick up and drop off was very simple and very easy.

Service and courtesy was outstanding.

One thing that would be great would be if the car had a navigation system…it would be worth a few $$$ extra for this perk.

We will be heading to NY again soon and we will once again rent from National.

National is usually my first pick but this trip was not great! Day 1 my tire kept going flat and I had to keep putting air in it. Called support and they sent me to ISP airport to exchange the car. The guy at the airport was extremely rude and told me he doesn't know why I was sent to that airport. I called support back and they put a request for an escalation and told me I would get a call back from a manager. I called several times after that and still never got a call back from a manager. I ended up switching my car out 5days later and had to go to another airport to do that. Not sure I will book national again.

I used different rent-a-car agencies over the years and National is by far the best. Do to recent job promotion I have to travel to New York a lot and this location at LaGuardia airport is one of the finest National locations. Last time I was here, Ms. Kim Hurdle was the one welcoming me at Emerald Isle and you can tell that she enjoys her job. Smile and greeting from a happy person is sometimes enough to brightens your day.

Car was dirty.hadn't been vacuumed and the windows weren't cleaned. Also there was a sticky film on the inside of the front windshield that couldn't be washed off. Tire pressure was never checked (got a warning 2 hours outside the the city). The pressure ranged from 26 to 36 psi and every tire was different. Dloppy.

The rental car office at LGA Airport New York was understaffed. As a result of which the customer service was not great!
The car that we got had registration expired. So we got a ticket. We did not have to pay for it.however it was an unnecessary hassle.
The car did not have enough air in one of its tire.
We later realized the car also did not have the safety feature of Seat Belt Alarm warning.
These are the ones I remember now. Hope this helps.

I rented a BMW 228xi from National at EWR for two extended-range drives on a four day weekend, and unfortunately it got a flat tire in Manhattan. BMWs come standard with run-flat tires, so we were able to limp it to the closest National location, LGA, because we had few options as we were late for a wedding upstate. When I got there, the lady (I wish I knew her name) told me she could ONLY give me a "hybrid" car, the Hyundai Kona, despite there being literally hundreds of other cars sitting in their parking lot.

I'm an executive elite member, and I was definitely dissatisfied that after giving National hundreds of rental days and tens of thousands of dollars of business, they wouldn't give me the courtesy of swapping me into a similar vehicle that I rented. I asked her several times, and I even offered to pay additional money, but she refused each time. I didn't even need a luxury car I just wanted some kind of choice, which is supposed to be the whole business model of National. However, since I was running late, I didn't have time to argue.

To make matters worse, after about 5 minutes of driving, I quickly discovered that the vehicle she gave me was not a hybrid, but was actually a fully electric vehicle. I do not know if the employee/manager lied to me just to get rid of the car since she had trouble renting it, or if she was just woefully ignorant about her own products, but this is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, they didn't even give the car fully charged, and we picked it up with 56% battery capacity available.

After the wedding, on the way back to the city, we searched the car's navigation system and found a charging station nearby. I'm familiar with Tesla's supercharging model, so I figured this has to be similar - we'll sit in the car for 30-45 minutes, and then it will be fully charged and ready to go. This was not the case. Instead, the charger indicated (as per my attached picture) that it would take almost SEVEN HOURS TO CHARGE. This is completely impractical for a rental vehicle.

Because of the manager's rude attitude and lack of knowledge about her product, I then had to take yet another trip out of my weekend to return, this time to the EWR location, to get a vehicle that would actually be practical for the weekend. While I'm on EWR, I cannot state enough how much better of a location this branch is. They profusely apologized for my inconvenience and allowed me to take an Audi A5 Sportback for free as an apology.

Overall, I'm completely unsatisfied with the LGA location's treatment of an Executive Elite status member, as their insistence that I take an electric car took away precious time from my hard-earned four day weekend.

First time renting with National
car rental, and cannot say enough about the wonderful experience I had renting a 2021 Chevrolet Malibu from these folks. Mercy on rental agent was on the ball transparent extremely professional very friendly and gave us a free upgrade to the Emerald Isle club, on this particular reservation. The location at 9501 ditmars boulevard in Astoria Queens is extremely efficient the staff is very friendly and very professional and it took approximately 90 seconds from the time I pulled in at the end of my rental to get out of the vehicle receive a friendly welcome and a smile from the representative who checked the car upon return and I was on my way to go to the airport in less than 5 minutes. Will definitely rent from this company again and I hope I have the pleasure of experiencing the same type of treatment that I received at this location in Astoria Queens New York.

Great and fast service. Usually a great selection of cars but like most places that deal with cars, I’m lucky if there’s enough inventory, talk less of being picky for a late model sport SUV in my favorite color

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a rental car company. I travel ALOT for work but this was my first time my travels took me to NY. If you do not know they do things very differently. I was dropped off at the emerald club entrance and I asked could they check if I was apart of emerald club and they refused, pointing to a line 500 ft away and telling me to stand there to check and they could not check for me even though I was 90% sure I was. I waited in that line for FORTY MINUTES until someone could check to confirm I was indeed emerald club and should not have been waiting in that line at all.it was frustrating and made me late for work. Will not be returning.

I was in a rush to catch a flight and couldn't find parking at LGA. I pulled into National's airport parking out of desparation because I saw the sign that they had airport parking. The people at this facility could not be nicer. I got a quick ride to my terminal. When I arrived back a few days later, the shuttle driver drove me right to my car because it was raining even though I offered to walk. Everyone I dealt with at this facility was top notch. Thanks, National.

Cheapest rates we could find. They picked us up from la guardia at midnight because our plane was late and stayed after hours to get us in a car. Who else would do that?

We needed a mini van and we're told repeatedly only the airport has a big selection. They were right. The location was a pain to go to but we got a clean new white voyager and it was easy to deal with the staff I recommend them at Alamo.

National Car rental has truly failed at a major international airport. If you fly out of LGA on a 7am flight, there is no shuttle service to any terminal until 6am. By the time you complete your check-in you will be denied access to your flight! I returned my vehicle at 530am. Fortunately access to the area was available but no employees in the receiving bay.
Walking to the terminal is dangerous and very precarious given the construction which will last for another 5 years.
Taxis and other buses are not readily available at early morning hours. I cannot recommend services here if you fly out on an early morning flight or arrive late into the evening as a result of any delays. The office closes at 1am.

Frankly all these car rentals should consider the debit card as payment as opposed to needing an actual.credit card! I work for the City of New York and my pay goes into my checking account and use my bank debit card for everything! The dam card is good enough for everything else and it's your hard earned money in it! So rental companies need to modify that ridiculous regulation! Their agents are all rude and refer to your bank debit card as if it were an EBT card! Revamp and clean house!

One of the most pleasant rental car experiences we’ve had. The location is great, very close to the airport but outside the chaos of the terminals. We were able to upgrade to a larger, newer car upon arrival for a minor price difference. The whole process was quick and painless. Our attendant, Jeanette, was a delight. She had a wonderful demeanor, offered us many car options to choose from, and even helped us with our luggage, which was very much appreciated.

They should honor debit cards its the same payment. But they don't. Service is very slow as the person behind the counter also retrieves your rental. So it's a wait.

National is always great but they need vehicles in a bad way. There was one car to choose from in the Executive area at LGA. As long as there is one, that is fine. However, they won't let you rent a one way trip. I had to fly out of Albany on business travel and they wanted me to drive six hours from where I was to return a car at LGA. After calling customer service, they instructed me to book a round trip and then just call once I have the car and tell them I am dropping at Albany. Traveling for business, I do one way rentals all the time as meetings take me far from my original airport. This is unworkable if National continues this policy.
