National Car Rental, Brooklyn NY

I made a reservation for pickup on the morning of Christmas Eve - no alerts, everything was fine, no notifications or emails, and the location was closed when I went to pick up the car.

Disappointing doesn’t begin to cover this. Never using this location again.

Understandably, there’s no last minute availability in the area.

Small but well located with excellent and efficient service. Everything worked perfectly, both the pick-up and delivery of the vehicle.

They always look out for me when I go there. And the guy johnny. Is the mannot a knock on everyone. They are all cool. Definitely treat you with the utmost respect

I agree with all the positive reviews with this location. The staff really are at another level and appreciate them. I have rented from hertz and Zipcar for decades and National has become my go to car rental company wherever I am.

Johnny and Nik and all of the staff at this location are very accommodating. I’ve had nothing but good experiences when renting with them I highly recommend them.thank you for helping these trips be easier to start and finish

I rented a car from JFK and returned it to the downtown Brooklyn office. There was a large discrepancy between my original reservation fee and the final amount due. Johnny Lewis, the rental agent that helped me, was the definition of professionalism. It took about 20 minutes to resolve the issue and he talked me through every step. I highly recommend working with Johnny and renting a car from National in downtown Brooklyn.

I have been renting at this location for about 20 years. I had to write a review today because this location is staffed with such phenomenal people. From the gentleman who I dropped the car off to, to the managers, to the techs who get the cars ship-shape, everybody at this National location is a super star. Johnny at the front desk is a gem and always makes sure I am in a safe and clean car. This is what makes National the best rental car co in the business. When your an Emerald member, you can just go straight to the car lot and skip the desk. But today, the Downtown Brooklyn location gave me a big reason to smile. After I got home, I realized I had left a small hard drive in the car with all my family photos on it - priceless to me. And when I returned to the location, the car tech had found it and the manager had it waiting for me. What great people! Brooklyn Pride all around! Thank you!

Johnny was so helpful and efficient. Prices are slightly higher than Avis or hertz nearby but the cars and service are significantly better. Would definitely pay the higher price to avoid the headache of renting from hertz.

Reserved a car for my parents, car wasn’t there when they got there, after over an hour they were offered a much smaller car than the one we reserved.
After 1.5 hours the staff decided the international license they provided wasn’t valid, even though it was.
Staff was rude an unhelpful through the experience.

They ended going to Budget rental across the street, prices were better, service was great, no issue with the license.

Bottom line, go to Budget car rental across the street.
