It was my first time coming to Ron but would definitely come back. He took my appointment same day and did not have to wait. He understands all the different types of hair and styles. He has an keen eye to details. Also a fun conversationalist on top of the skills. Highly recommend!

Ron is just a natural with scissors and clippers - one of the best that I have come across in NYC (over the past 3 years that I have been here). What I love about Ron is his inherent passion for haircuts that are nothing short of perfection. More than anything, Ron is just an amazing guy with a very kind heart! Do give him a visit.

Great space with nice music. Very friendly staff with shot of whiskey on arrival. Great update on the classic NYC barber experience. Jonathan is an expert barber. He listened to all my neurosis about my wispy beard and round head and I came away with a bushy beard and lantern-jawed. Lots of hot towels. Will definitely be back!

This has become my to-go place since my hairstylist Nelson started to work here. He’s great at cutting my curly unruly hair and we have tried different styles over the years. It’s always sharp and grows nicely. It’s so hard to find someone who understands curly hair (iykyk). The salon is cute and easy to get to. The staff is friendly and they will serve you some bourbon if you want!

Lived in New York for 10 years and took me 8 to find a barbershop I’ve loved. Andrew is my guy, never disappoints and delivers a fresh cut every time. The whole team is great, and they offer a complimentary whiskey shot when you arrive. Def recommend.

After countless and fruitless searches for where to find an experienced beard barber, Neighborhood Cut and Shave rose to the top. I booked Nelson to tame my unruly beard, not wanting to shorten it, but instead seeking a professional to shape the beast. I couldn't be more satisfied. Nelson was not only beautifully skilled with sculpting beards, but he was also incredibly warm, grounded, and welcoming. The person in the mirror before and after the cut, I barely recognized. This will be my go to place for a monthly beard tune-up, and to bask in the glow of the most welcoming business in NYC. As the sign inside says: All Souls Welcome. We need more places like this in the world. Thank you, Nelson, for everything.

Fantastic first experience yesterday. I had been frustrated with the haircuts back home and since I'm in the city every month I figured why not see a real barber who knows what he's doing! Drew was terrific. Personable, friendly and great work. I'll see you in 4 weeks!

Bottom line: This place is the best. Since covid started I have used some local barber shop to get my haircut (wouldn't let anyone touch my beard) but finally had the time to get into NC&S for a REAL haircut and beard trim. The quality and time put into their work is amazing, this place proves you get what you pay for! If you are looking for a great barber shop look no further.

Awesome little shop on Bedford. Got a beard trim and quick shape up, and was very happy with the service. Very accommodating and super nice guys. Will be back!
