The Netherland Monument is a sculpture located at Battery Place and State Street, The Battery in Lower Manhattan, NY. It’s open every day of the week from 6: 00 am to 1: 00 pm. It’s the only gold-leafed inscriptions that I’ve seen in the park. It’s a gift from the Netherlands to New York City and written in English and Dutch. I find this to be a tremendous expression of friendship from the Dutch.

A small reminder of the history that founded this great city. It really needs more.

They bought the Island for so little money. Natives should have deserved a greater monument.
