New Moon Cafe, East Quogue NY

We never knew this place existed but awesome find. Here tonight to support a friend in their open mic night. Parking was easy. Heard they have an amazing patio in Summer. Sitting in a U shaped booth with 2 others and 5 others in the U shaped booth across from us. Mikey was our host and server which was top notch. He made the evening with his service. 5 stars for sevice! He also had a female server who assisted our table that was great too.
Clean & friendly neighborhood spot and we would be back again! Family friendly, even a diaper changing table. Very Texan Roadhouse I guess? I could see how it is cafe by day with bar and a local bar w food at night.like tonight. The front entrance was not handicap accessible but there might have been other other entrances because I saw walkers, canes, and crutches tonight. The front was a little narrow, steps and you go through 2 doors.
There was one fruit fly or fly at our table and the you have to hold toilet handle for a solid flush. I came in to an unflushed toilet, and when I tried.had to flush twice.
I usually give 4 stars as my usual highest review because I believe every venue has room to improve and I have only had one experience here.
The menu had many various options. There was a Gluten Free Bun and also Veggie burger option too. I had a brisket slider with Swiss cheese. The menu says it is $1 to add cheese but I was charged $2. Ordered the special Pumpkin Marinara Penne alla Vidka w/Spinach which was good but maybe just me but I did not taste much pumpkin. A friends tasted and said everything was kind of bland. One ordered Flounder and the other ordered Mac & Cheese w pulled pork. I threw in an order of Pecan pie but didn't realize the ice cream wasn't served with it but I was only able to have one bite, and i ate the ice cream. We all loved the whipped cream! 3 of us.not drinking alcohol. Ginger ale, coffee, water. Everything was itemized clearly on receipt. Our Bill was $108 before tax. If anyone needed to know there is 3% surcharge to use credit card which added almost $4. I believe has become standard practice for restaurants since Covid and it is written on the menu. There is a $3 per plate share charge. $120.84 was our bill.so we spent $145 total which I think is high for what we got but not complaining. We had fun and everyone was kind. Happy Holidays. Like I said.we would be back but I would probably stick with Texas ribs or wings and fries.

Great vibe. This place is welcoming and laid back - an easy place to enjoy a nice dinner or just have a few drinks at the bar. The food is good, not great, but staff are responsive and super friendly. Bonus: live music!

Food was great. Fish taco, and shrimp taco were very tasty. Also had a side of chips, and salsa that were homemade. Will definitely eat here more often.

Place is a great spot. Staff is great, owners are awesome and the food is ALWAYS GOOD! Breakfast/Brunch on Saturday and Sunday mornings also, so you gotta check out The New Moon Cafe and find out "WHERE THE HELL IS EAST QUOGUE"

I’ve been going here for a long time. The food is always good and reasonably priced. It has a fun atmosphere and the outdoor space is great. I just discovered that they do breakfast and I’m enjoying my first breakfast right now.

The food was cold and not tasty THE waitress was clueless on the wine and food. I shall never eat there again.

Very friendly family-run place. Once they ordered Tubi so we could watch a soccer game and last night we were treated to a fabulous singing server covering Adele. Lots of great food options - from burrito bowls, mussels, pasta, steak to wings. In summer there’s a lovely garden.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. Let's start with the atmosphere. It has a warm, welcoming, cozy and patriotic vibe. The decor is perfect. I hope the owner never changes it because the look sets it apart from every other restaurant. Every time we've been there, we're greeted and seated by the nicest people. The wait staff is so friendly. My family & I love to sit in the booths. They're very comfortable and nicely designed, open booths. I'm not sure what it is about the air in this place but even the patrons who sit at tables near each other, complete strangers to one another upon entering, converse, share laughs and leave as aquaintances. The positive energy is contagious. We live about an hour away from the cafe and try to make it out once a week. One of the nicest things about New Moon, is that the owner always comes over to our table to ask how we are. He has a contagious big smile and angel blue eyes. I don't know him at all but I get the feeling that it brings him joy to see everyone reveling in the space that he built. The food is delicious. We go there on nights that have live music and it's a great time. The musicians are fantastic. I'm so happy we found New Moon Cafe.

Stopped in late at night they made us feel comfortable served us at the bar. Had the Wednesday special burgers. They were delicious not expensive. Going back for sure.

I returned here tonight for the fourth time. I like the food enjoy the atmosphere and the desserts are excellent. I gave 5 stars because it’s a nice restaurant though the service could be more attentive. People are friendly yes but waited way to long for drinks and no check back at all! No plates with apps and no sugar with coffee.
People were very nice, though we like drinks with our food and sugar should be a given. I’d love to try breakfast next time I heard the pancakes are good.

Fun evening. Great food, casual atmosphere, super friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

Stopped in for the 1st time to celebrate my Birthday Dinner
Immediately liked the layout and atmosphere and could see the place has a following.
The hostes was amazing smiling and couldn’t be friendlier
As for the food my sons chicken fingers were good the fries could use a flavor boost
Wife and I had the chopped steak I had mine with mashed potatoes and veggies
Both the meat and potatoes were excellent
Followed it up with a Sundae
Overall very pleased would have no problem making it a go to place

Fabulous, congenial hosts and service in a welcoming, cozy atmosphere. Delicious omelet, brisket hash, crispy home fries, fresh fruit and coffees served with warm smiles and friendly conversation. Thoroughly enjoyable! Thank you! We'll be back!

This place popped up on my credit card statement, I have never been here & live in Canada. The place will not reply to emails to assist with this fradulant transaction, makes me think they must be involved with scanning stolen cards.
I would avoid swiping any card there for your own safety.
