New Paltz Indian Restaurant reviews
17The food here is so impressively good. I really can’t get enough of their chicken tikka masala! Pricey but the portions and food is worth it.
This was my very first time going to this place based upon a recommendation from a good friend but it definitely won't be my last time because the food was absolutely delicious
Food is not very flavorful. I’m from a place where Indian foods taste magnificent but here it’s not. Biriyani is very bland. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
Food was really good. Service was slow but they did bring more servers on as more people came in. So it didnt really speed up but it didnt slow down even further. Chicken VIndaloo is fantastic especially with the garlic naan. Intend to get the rooti the next time I go
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I FOUND A HAIR IN MY FOOD.
When I told the waiter about it she called some lady who accused me of putting the hair there. Then when I said to check the camera she said she will and call her son. Then proceeds to say the cameras are not good. She kept on saying I put the hair there because I asked for hot sauce and they didn’t have. Then some man came and was trying to convince me its not a hair but from an animal, which is even more disgusting. 0/5 that lady is a cu*t. She ended by saying to never come back, like okay? The waiters were dolls but that lady is a PIG.
Run here as fast as you can! The food is beyond absolutely delicious, the portions are generous! The staff are very nice! The prices are fitting! Very very Great place.
This is one of those Indian restaurants in America that serve so called Indian food basically just to suit taste of goras.
Most their curries that are traditionallly cooked in ghee are cooked in soy oil.
Even Dal makhani is made with yellow lentil.
I'm sure Americans would like it, but someone who grew up in India, might not find any Indian food there.
I'm a foodie so a bit disappointed.
My favorite Indian restaurant in New Paltz. Reasonable prices, great food, very impressed with the quality and flavor combinations.
Such a bad attitude, served lassi with so much water in it.was super diluted. Asked them and got yelled at. The guy who served said “i am just a server, i dont know how they serve food”. Felt so bad. Paid a huge amount. The gulab jamun was spoilt. They charged for that too. Wouldnt suggest this place to anyone.
I come to New Paltz on business several times each quarter. My colleague and I have chosen this restaurant to eat at during our past two trips to Ulster County and have gotten wonderful meals both times. I had the lamb korma, fresh naan bread and a mango lassi and everything was wonderful. I've had Indian food everywhere from New York City to London to North Carolina and this ranks up there with the best Indian restaurants I have dined at. Another thing I might mention is that there was not a long wait time for the food to come to the table. That is a definite plus in my book. If you find yourself in New Paltz you should check this place out if you like Indian food; it really is an excellent little restaurant!
Food was good with an unpretentious setting. We all enjoyed our dishes and would definitely eat here again.
Amazing food. Everyone should try their butter chicken it’s perfect. Every time I’m in town i go to this place.
We were a little worried when we walked in and the restaurant was pretty empty but the food was stellar and we saw a lot of to go orders go through. The place seems underrated. I'd go back in a heartbeat. The Tikka Masala was delicious!
Went with my family for a Birthday party, was my first time eating Indian food. Absolutely wonderful, great taste, great service.
Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed everything we had. I love their chicken tikka masala. Two things that bothered me were #1- I asked for a diet soda and didn't get it until I asked a second time. When I did get it, it was brought to me in a can. #2 - The place could use a good cleaning.
We went here because it was convenient off the highway. The service was ok, not great or bad. But the food was some of the worst Indian American food I've had (maybe 20-30 restaurants). The chicken Tikka near was somewhat rubbery and the paneer was mostly lacking from our saag. But hands down the biggest problem was that nothing had spice. I don't mean chili heat, I mean flavor. My 11 year old son said that it tasted like McDonalds made Indian food. It was like generic thin tomato sauce had been put on chicken and on our bindi. There probably aren't a ton of options around here, but I would likely never come back here.
