New York City Marriage License reviews
12The experience was the worst, the chubby lady in the entrance has a problem talking to people. She hardly answered my question and didn't borrow me a pan to fill out the form. She had 4 pans in front of her. Well, customer service - 0! If those people hate their jobs, why don't you hire someone who is happier to work?
Worst customer service, employees are so so disrespect and very rude
Totally not what I expect, New York you should do better or change the black girl that called her self the supervisor, we don’t have this in England, hospitality -0 %
The security at the entrance of the marriage licenses bureau's office is very rude. She dont know how to speak to people.
The clerk that handled our paperwork could not be bothered to hang up her phone and properly attend to us. She held her phone to her ear and gossiped and cackled (like a pigeon) with the person on the other end, while entering our information in the system. After she incorrectly spelled my name twice, I gently offered her correction. The young lady was not happy that I interrupted her phone call, and responded with an eye roll. The OLD me would have made quick work of her, but I have matured, found Christ, and worked on my anger issues. It is sad that the standard for Civil workers are so low. It is common knowledge that it is virtually impossible to be terminated from a city job. This knowledge fosters a culture of unprofessional and crass behavior. Getting my license was one of the happiest days of my life (rivaling the day that I picked up my divorce decree), and that warm and fuzzy feeling saved the rude young lady.
I called today to ask how to check the status of a filing. The woman immediately complained about how busy she was and instead of telling me where to go, she told me to "call back next week" and hung up without giving me her name. The interaction was maybe 15 seconds.
Such a high calibur tax-paid employee. I still dont have the info I need.
If you call this place, when someone actually picks up the phone (which they usually don't) they are beyond nasty to you the moment they pick up the phone. New, nicer people need to be hired that actually feel like working for a living and have a modicum of customer service experience. Beware, these people like to hang up on you, as well.
After multiple failed phone calls, we mailed away for my mother's marriage certificate, filling out the forms and sending copies of the information they requested. They sent us the marriage certificate of some unknown people from a different borough. There was personal information of people that we don't know on those forms. This is very irresponsible and risky on their part considering the state of identity theft these days.
The have since told us to send those back and they will send us the correct ones. I highly doubt these will be correct since one bothered to read the original application we sent to begin with.
Had a good experience here, the staff is efficient and organized. The chapel is quite pretty, I think I like it better than the back drop off city hall in the Manhattan bureau.
The process was ok, but one of the ladies at the window is sooo horrible my goodness! She would yell at the people and say rude things im not even from NY and I helped a couple thru the process and I heard her mouth out in the hallway
Staff is very friendly and nice. Line is shorter than in Manhattan, that is making marriage easier and we didn't wait long. To apply to marriage licence in Manhattan we was waiting more than an hour!
Also we was saying vows! That was amazing. Compare to Manhattan ceremony, our friends just said: " I do" And that's it: (.
There's only 4 windows to apply to get your wedding license and 2 windows if you plan on having the ceremony there. The ceremony line was moving way faster than the regular line both had a good amount of people. Me and my fiancé was in line for 2 hours and 1/2 to only be at the window for about 15 minutes. That's to give you a idea of how many people were here on 4-24-15. At 3: 00 pm they made a announcement that they close exactly at 4: 00 pm. Best bet is to try and come early hopefully to beat the crowd location is on the second floor room 205. Also if you go with your fiancé let one stand on line while the other person fill out the paperwork to speed up the process.
I called just to gather some clarity.needless to say. New York needs to revamp all their positions of civil service. The people lack professionalism in all aspects. The people in these positions are needless to say "tired of their job. " I most certainly told the worker about herself and I wish I would come across her again so that I could report her. New York either give your workers a morale booster or let them go.
