New York City North / Newburgh KOA Holiday, Plattekill NY

First.the pool was not open.
Wine store only open on weekends.
Activities not all there as they put on website.
First time at a KOA, not that impressed.
But sites were OK.

If you want a place to put your mind in peace this is it, being coming here for 4 years in a row and enjoy it every time, breath taking views, peaceful, and a list of activities to do daytime if looking for action, endless choices for fun, huge swimming pool and a separated one for the little ones, great playground and the list goes on and on, the cabin are clean, bring your own meats and they give you a grill and picnic private area, highly recommend.

Easy check in, our site was a nice pull through with full hook ups. It also had cable. Roads around campground all paved but narrow so it keeps you going slow. Playground is nice they have mini golf, a bounce pillow also. A small pond to go fishing (catch and release only) but fun for little ones. All in all a nice place to stay. Did not use restrooms or showers while here but peeked in and they looked clean. We will stay here again!

Older facility but very well maintained. Sites are decent size. Lots of walking and stuff for the kids to do. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Excellent layover passing through.

Booked a tent site for 2 nights, behind/close to the store and office. The site was decently sized, clean, with some bushes and small trees separating from the sites next to it.
The store is also nicely stocked.

However, the quiet time? Not enforced at all. The loud talking, even yelling, loud music, even honking… (?) went well into 2am. No one here had any proper etiquette. The oddest experience I’ve ever had camping, how people were blatantly loud, with no regard for others.
Mind you these sites are pretty small and close together.
If you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you.

What a great campground! The staff was very friendly upon arrival and throughout our stay. Check in was easy and it was easy to get to our site. The site was very spacious and clean. Our kids had fun at the playground and basketball court. We did not use the public restrooms. Overall this is a great weekend spot.

Was actually kind of fun. Definitely family oriented and lots of kids, but they have live music and was a pretty cool atmosphere. Sites are a little small, but everyone was nice.

This KOA is about ten miles from I87 and is situated among a forested area near Newburgh. The access roads are narrow but presented few problems arriving to the Camp. The internal roads are narrow and tree lined. This requires you to take your time as you follow the curvy road to your camp site. Patience will get you there. The sites are nice. All have fire pits. Clean and well maintained. A nice place to stay for a day or two.

Just stayed for overnight but staff was accommodating, bathhouse was clean, all utilities worked well. We’d like to stay longer on our travels in the future.

Koa of Newburgh is a great place again the staff is very nice & it is a great place to go camping wether in a tent or an Rv & koa of newburgh has great activities I love camping at koa of newburgh Ny

Only stayed one night. Excellent cable service, haven't tried the wifi yet, but got 48 channels. Beautiful koa park, but way out of town, lol. We stayed here in 2015 and actually in the same place. We would come again. Only difficulty was manuevering our big rig towing into this spot. Had to disconnect.

When we arrived, we were not told we had no water. Then when we went to cook dinner on a KOA patio site, the grill leaked propane profoundly. Luckily, we realized what was happening, otherwise it would have blown up our camper, the camper next to us & US. I called the main desk, & the girl said, “ Oh We know. ” Are you kidding? Don’t go here.

We had two tent sites.watch out for all the tree roots! Super friendly staff.lots of activities for the kids.only complaint is the bathroom/shower area is a little bit of a walk from the tent sites.its a pain in the butt when your 8 year old needs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night!

My fiance and I have been to a lot of koa throughout the states and this is by far the worst we've been to. The spots are small and tight, the amenities are old and not maintained. I wish I had a review like this when I booked so I'd know to go somewhere better.

Go elsewhere and save yourself the disappointment.

The sites are great but the shower stalls are terrible. They really need to be cleaned and updated. Cracks, mold, dirt.

The kid riding around nonstop on the motorised scooter & moped was slightly annoying while trying to work.

The mob of teenagers hanging out in the store w/ the kids working while trying to pay was also obnoxious.

As far as KOA goes this place was cheap but why not raise prices and update the showers.

Overall the grounds were quiet besides mr motor scooter doing laps.
